For YEARS now, Texas A&M has claimed to be the big dog in Texas, but this recruiting cycle, Ole Miss signed the #1 overall player from Texas and more players in the Texas top 16 than Texas A&M.

What say ye, SEC Rant? Does #OMRTS?

This is one of the main reasons why the NCAA is/has been camped out in Oxford Ms.

Kids from a big wealthy state with great academic institutions and athletic programs with winning traditions usually don't leave the state for schools located in a small poor state with poor academic standards that has been in the cellar of its athletic conference for 50+ years.

Outside if their recruiting rankings, I don't know anything about the guys Ole Miss signed, so don't take this as any sort of comment on them. But, the reality is I doubt the academic side of it is much of a factor in the decision making process for a lot of these kids. I would even say lower academic expectations are probably a selling point to some recruits. Seems to be the case with the brothers spice.

OM commits academic fraud with most of the degrees they are selling.

Anybody with a good Visa can get an Ole Spice degree.

Mannings played at Ole Miss so it is not like they never got top talent before. Probably the Texas fans that visited The Grove realized the worst SEC team had better parties than Rocket Guy in Austin. Ole Miss had Katy Perry for College Game Day, who has Texas had in Austin?

Archie is from Drew, Ms. Eli is from New Orleans. WTF does this have to do with Texas recruiting?

The NCAA is camping just outside Freeze's office. You ought to be worried about that.

Texas top 16

Is this a list or something? Just curious why 16 and not 10 or 20 or 50.

Texas A&M (finally) tied us at 17

We actually regained the lead at 36 but decided to stop signing Texas players so that A&M wouldn't have to cancel football
