Is Notre Dame screwed because of 21-0?

If they and OU win out, ND will be in Bama's spot and OU will be in OSU's spot almost exactly. Well the consensus in the media since 1/9/12 seems to be that even though Bama was the better team and proved it, they should have never been given the chance and LSU should never have been forced to beat a team it already did. I think that attitude will doom Notre Dame. I know they are currently in the top 4 slot but look for that to go slip away if OU keeps winning, based on the fact that nobody outside of South Bend (or Tuscaloosa) wants a rematch.

If the committee thinks they are one of the best four teams, they will be in as they should. Just like 2011.

None of that should matter
OU plays the better teams they just beat Baylor and still have tcu and okie st coming up
ND has Stanford who just lost

They are going to put put OSU at 1 if the win out

No. First, what makes you think ND and Bama will play each other?
Second, common opponent will be Texas. 38-3 vs. 17-24

Well the committee is suppose to be warning the Big 12 to get a CCG. But Notre Dame isnt even in a conference. Not going to make any predictions but how they pitt ND up against other 1 loss Champions will tell how honest this committee is.

Which OSU are we talking about here?
If Ohio State wins out they will be number 1. Oklahoma State wouldnt be
Also Notre Dame would get in over Oklahoma

I can see what you are saying. On one hand, the narrative is that ND is sooooo terrible and slow and they can't hang with Bama. On the other hand, do most Gumps want to take a chance in the CFP again with either BGB or Urban? They don't want to take that chance again. Big Game Bob owns you. Urban has the most recent victory on you. And this year's ND isn't the same one you steam rolled in 2012. Just keep calm & Clemson might have mercy on you. Just ask Lannister. He knows everything. LMAO

To me, this will show the world Notre Dame's modern clout. If they get in, the good ol boy network is still strong. If Oklahoma gets in, they mean business when they say conference championships will matter. It might finally force Notre Dame to join a conference.
I see this as a huge moment in the future of college football. As long as everyone wins out.
Ok st gets in if they go undefeated, regardless of ND being Stanford.

If ND does get in over OU with both winning out the committee is a god damn joke and I don't see this system lasting long at all

Why exactly does Oklahoma have a better case?
Notre Dame will probably have beaten the same or more final ranked teams.
Oklahoma lost to a horrible Texas team (not average, horrible). Notre Dame lost by 2 to the number 1 team right now.
Both play same number of games

Stanford is going to drill Notre Lame.
That means SEC champ, ACC champ, Big 10 champ, Big 12 champ - get in.

Yeah, because previous systems were so fair when it comes to Notre Dame.
Everyone always says "take the logo off the helmet and look at the record" but by design the playoff contenders are mostly chosen by old white football men. They will never look past the name on the helmet. OU only has a chance because they are OU and not Oklahoma St.

ND would just provide a bye for whoever they play into the finals.

You know I'm right, @sswipe. He brought you two titles in three years and most of you don't even appreciate him. Worse yet, you spread lies about his legitimate health issues. I'd love for you guys to beat Bama so OSU could roll your 2nd tier QB havin' asses, but you all have a monstrous challenge ahead of you. I'd almost feel bad for you during that beat down that's coming. But then I'll realize you are the lowly lizards and figure you get what you get.

1 loss Champion
If OU wins out they will have co-champions again
And no way a one loss big 12 team goes ahead of a 1 loss ND, ND will have a much stronger strength of schedule AND will have one vs their common opponent tu

Independents, such as Notre Dame, have an equal chance of reaching the playoffs as teams in conferences. Its written into the College Football Playoffs bylaws: "discretion to select a non-champion or independent under circumstances where that particular non-champion or independent is unequivocally one of the four best teams in the country."
So what criteria does the selection committee use to determine the best 4 teams:
"When circumstances at the margins indicate that teams are comparable, then the following criteria must be considered:
•Championships won
•Strength of schedule
•Head-to-head competition (if it occurred)
•Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory)"
Notre Dame won't win a conference championship, but their strength of schedule is stronger currently than Iowa, OK State, and OU. The last point (common opponents) is critical when comparing ND and OU. OU lost to a bad Texas team while ND beat them 38-3.
