Is Myles Garrett the prototypical tamu pass rusher?

Last year, Garrett tore up his freshman campaign, with a record 8.5 sacks. His dissenters were quick to point out that only 3 of these were "in conference".
Fast forward a year, and Chavis has tamu's defense much improved, especially on the defensive line, totaling 20 sacks so far. However, only 5 of them are against SEC foes.
Which brings me to my question: does anyone embody the mantra of their school (tamu's being "pad stats against shitty competition") more than Myles Garrett?

My opinion of Garrett is he's a freak athlete who needs to harden up some before the NFL. He needs to be tougher.
Oh wait, this is an Aggie troll thread. Carry on.

Yes, just like Arkansas and Tennessee like to over hype their seasons.

Good thing he has a season and a half before he's eligible.

He was all over the field Saturday and was just named SEC dL of the week. If having a sack a game, two forced fumbles, three pass break ups, a blocked punt, and several TFL is overrated, I wish I could have 5 overrated defensive ends to rotate in all year

Exactly, he has plenty of time. It's just what IMO he needs to do.

Not called for. I think Garrett played a great game. What's the deal with Cam Robinson though?

So how's Derek Barnett doing this year?

Myles Garrett is #3 in the country with 8.5 sacks. Derek Barnett is somewhere out of the top 100 with 2 sacks. What happened to Barnett? Isn't he supposed to be far superior to Garrett?

I think Cam looked good to very good vs A&M. They left him alone of Myles more than any team has or will this year. Normally that would mean 3 sacks and a 1/2 dozen hurries.

He is just waiting for some big games to start playing. He doesn't want to pad them vs crappy teams.

OM is good at this

What is with all the Myles Garrett hate today? Does A&M having one good defensive payer just get sand in everyone's vagina?
He's had big plays in every SEC game this year:
Arkansas: strip sack on Arkansas's final drive and set up a go-ahead FG (that Bertolet missed)
MSU: Big time forced fumble inside the 5 yard line where he defended the QB and the RB on the option play by himself
Bama: had a sack and a TFL as well as the blocked punt.

I love your name, but you're wrong about Garrett. The guy is a phenomenal pass rusher. He still needs to develop his run stopping skills. But he's a great talent that I have tremendous respect for after Saturday.

Garret is good. He is the reason MSU lost that game. We couldn't run or pass to his side, had to roll out Dak away from him.

That's a nice way of saying Cam Robinson pushed him all over the field on Saturday.

Barnett is better at handling the run than Garrett. He's had a good year with plenty of hurries and tackles but without Maggitt on the other end it's more difficult to get sacks as offenses can and do stick with picking on the true freshman backup on the other sides. That said, Barnett didn't really get rolling in his sack numbers until this time last year so he's got plenty of time if/when the other end settles in.
We've also played more 4-3 base because of Maggitt's injury and the weakness on the other end and have even used Barnett inside at times. Kid is a monster.

The SEC selected Myles Garrett as SEC Defensive Lineman of the week for his play against Alabama.

He's named SEC defensive lineman of the week for our game against Bama and that's the week you try to start this abortion of a troll attempt?
