Historically Ole Miss football trumps anything Misery has done. In the BCS/CFP era alone, Ole Miss has 3 Cotton Bowl wins and 1 Sugar Bowl win. Missouri has done well since 2005 for their standards, but historically they aren't close to Ole Miss.

Ummm Mizzou's two trips to ATL trumps anything on that list. I realize a poster of a school that doesn't have a conference championship can get confused by such

Gotta hand it to them they started with a bang in the SEC East. Does anyone believe they make it to Atlanta if they are playing in the West though? If the two teams were to trade divisions for the past 5 yrs wouldn't things look a little different?

Mizzou would probably look like OM has. I'd say the two programs are similar.

They will be over the next decade for obvious reasons.

What year do you believe Ole Miss would have won the East?

Mizzou was good enough to win the West in 13. Not saying it would have happened, but the team was good enough.

I'll just say that when I see Missouri is next on the schedule in football, or any sport for that matter, I certainly like our chances. Same goes for State, Vandy, Kentucky, Arkansas and Tennessee. The others sometime require a closer look. Just being honest.

2014 maybe. Only 3 losses in regular season were to SEC West opponents that Missouri didn't play. We might have had a shot at the SEC title as well seeing as how we would have been playing Bama in Championship game.

Big 12 does have a conference title game. Division titles are nice I suppose, but a conference title means more. And no, Mizzou's 2 SEC East titles are nothing compared to OM's accolades.

Ole Miss coulda won the west in 1995, 1997, 1998, and 2000. The West didn't become a juggernaut till Saban got Bama rolling. Ole Miss can't use the "but were in the west" excuse. They've had 25 chances to win it.

Ole Miss "titles" are dusty and were won in the poll booth, not on the field. Mizzou also leads the alltime series 6-1

MU>OM

No. Besides having a little better tradition, recruiting matters. Ole Miss is much closer to fertile recruiting grounds like Memphis, Atlanta, Texas, etc...

Missouri and ole miss' football programs are pretty much the same historically, besides them holding a 6-1 record in the head to head series.

football program comparison by the #'s all time.

If we didn't have the 4th and 25, we were going to Atlanta.

One play kept us out.

I love that site you used. Really a great tool for comparison using raw numbers The argument could get intricate either way looking at this depending on how much you weight recency, strength of opponents (top 25 wins), wins over top 10, perceived strength of conference both recent and early, bowl appearences, division titles, SEC titles, nattys and legitimacy of them, bowl wins, bowl quality wins, early bowls vs bowls in the present day glut of them etc...

if you took the time to hash all of this out, I feel that Ole Miss would come out superior to Zou.

Bear Bryant or Saban was never afraid to play any Mizzou coach. The same cannot be said for Vaught or Freeze. At least the Bear could schedule around it to minimize the threat without the help of the NCAA or hiring as many Ole Miss assistant coaches as he can. Hahahaha!

Hahaha yeah, teams in the sec west are so afraid of playing hugh freeze and ole miss. Good Lord, you can't honestly believe this is true. So hugh freeze and ole miss beat bama 2 times in a row? So what? They clearly overlooked yall the first time around and yall had a shamrock up your asses the 2nd time yall beat them. Ole miss didn't even win their division in either year. Ole miss is the 6th best football program in the west, only ahead of miss st. That's a fact. Yeah, everyone is so afraid to play ole miss. Get your head out of your arse. Yall cheated your asses off and still couldn't make it to the sec title game...that says something about your program. The fact is that the only team in the sec west that ole miss holds the overall series record against is miss st. The majority of the series arent even close (double digit lead in overall series). That should tell you something about your place in this division, much less this conference as a whole. Yet yall think you can cheat and bring in top 5 recruiting classes and it won't be obvious that your blatantly cheating? I hate to burst your bubble, but oxford, ms isnt that great and neither is your school or your state. Your stadium is a joke compared to the rest of the sec west besides miss st and you don't have the money or the resources that the other programs in your division have either. You're way behind in every facet of an athletic dept. That's what's so funny about it really...you frickers have to cheat to even compete within your own division. You do play in the toughest division in college football but damn. It was obvious that your boosters and administration saw bama, lsu, and auburn all winning championships and said hey we want to do that. Except, yall had to cheat and pay players to try and accomplish it. You're a joke. You're lone banner since this conference implemented a title game, and way before that, still remains as the only one..."2003 SEC Western Division Champions". Now, I don't even need to explain why that's hilarious. Yeah, everyone is afraid of hugh freeze and ole miss. Lol.

Sorry for the very long post but I had to get my point across to you. Yes, missouri definitely is on par with ole miss' football program and its really not a question. If there's a question, they have made 2 sec title games in their first several years in the conference...something ole miss hasn't accomplished in, FOREVER. Then, they hold a 6-1 overall lead head to head. If anything, ole miss and hugh freeze should be scared of playing missouri, lol.
