Any over-hype out there is media generated, not by Bama fans. It's the talking heads at ESPN, his old FSU coaches, etc doing all the talking. Most Bama fans simply say they think he can manage the game and be adequate which I think are realistic expectations.

It's not just Alabama fans. Have you seen all of the preseason polls? It's like the voters don't even consider the QB position at all when it comes to Bama.

You could make the same argument about preseason lists and Fournette.
The media is dumb. Water is wet.

It would probably be best for the board if next time you wait for us to ask your opinion, if we want to know, we will definitely ask!

I would have Bama ranked 5-8 preseason. But it's not like Bama hasn't replaced a QB before under Saban, and done it very well.

That or they've watched Alabama since Saban got there and they know they'll see a premier team again this year.

How experienced was Alabama's OL during such prior examples?

He's not overrated. The script says he wins the Heisman. DWI.

Considering that Bama returns 3 full-time starters and 1 guy who started the bowl game last year on the OL? About the same.

Alabama's receivers are raving about transfer Jaccob Coker's arm at SEC Media Days.

I haven't checked. Did the media vote him 1st team, as expected?

Went 14-0 in 2009 with a new QB and 3 new starters on the OL

Ever heard of Mitch Mustain? Rick Mirer or Ron Paulus?

Thanks for answering the question.
Based upon the posts here, it looks like Bama fans are expecting to win the SEC and play for another national championship. I guess we'll see soon enough.

How can you decide if a person is overrated before they've started a game?
...
Are you from the FUTURE????????

i havent seen many bama fans speak like he's already an AA caliber QB like the media has. From the highlights of his A Day game at FSU and his mop up duty he doesnt look good at all

Yeah, but not everyone is AJ McCarron.
True. But it's not very hard to be Greg McElroy.

Why shouldn't we? Nick Saban has brought in the #1 recruiting class for the last four years running now. There is a considerable amount of talent on the team, talent enough to bring home the SEC and national crowns.
We may not win it all this year but 2015 is shaping up to be the most talented team in the history of Alabama football.
