your DBs did that for you. Prewitt made Mettenberger his bitch.

That and his play calling. Wallace had 330 yards passing that game.

no one is saying anything about a 5 step drop. and bubble screens rely on plenty of blocking.

Our offense set records last season with a banged up QB... We will break those records this season with a healthy QB... Saying Freeze doesn't understand Xs and Os is foolish.

Mostly by the receivers. Not the offensive line. When your offensive line is getting blown up, what other passing option to you have than a screen?

the system puts up plenty of nice stats. wins come down to play calling in the red zone and late in the 4th.

The guy makes stupid arse decisions, don't get me wrong. But to say he's terrible at Xs and Os is just wrong.

short crossing routes, curls, etc. draws in the running game that aren't on 3rd and long, etc.

With your linebackers, that wasn't happening. Our best bet was getting it out to the edge.

his system/the HUNH puts up stats. if that's what you want to focus on, that's fine. hugh's play calling is just not that impressive.

It depends on his mood. If we don't get a running game established, he panics and we are fricked.

Speaking of this, Saban did the exact same type of thing with the fat defensive tackle they had about 5 years ago

Jackie Sherrill and Croom will be the GOAT of all time in State history no matter what Cousin Eddies does.

Mullen's biggest fault is his stubbornness with personnel. If we play Relf the 2nd half of 2009 and run the read option 75% of the time we're talking about five straight bowls, and we'd have probably taken down a team like LSU or Tech that season.

Then in 2012 we had two square pegs in a round hole with Russell and Perkins. Neither one fit the scheme but Mullen plugged away, even after we were exposed by Bama. He's at his best when he goes Florida 2010 and just runs the frick out of what is working and imposes our will on teams. We have big physical guys up front, and usually a bruising QB and back or two. Might as well go down hill and punch someone in the mouth.

Personally, I like an occasional Treadwell pass. Keeps the D on its toes.

Freeze did this more in 2012 than he did last year. The 2012 Arky game was funny because he ran the same WR screen 3-4 plays in a row then Wallace pump faked the throw another time and had Sanders open down field. It was great.

I think Mullen's best play calling game was that 2010 Florida game or the Gator Bowl against Michigan.

Freeze's so far has been LSU last year (really the Troy game but they're a smaller school)They couldn't stop us.

We didn't run a single pass play in the 2nd half of that Florida game. I loved it.

We're going to win under Mullen with running QBs and mean arse dudes like Dillon Day up front. I hope we never see another drop back experiment again.

The only drop back quarterback that really worked for Mullen was Alex Smith.

Leak mostly aired out but he had Tebow to run it when they needed in 2006. We don't have the WRs to do that. Diamond WRs don't work out the same as diamond OL do. 2/3 of our best OL in the Muffin era were straight up pure diamonds with Dillon Day ( go watch his highlight tape. it's straight up abuse-and at the highest level of LA football) and Gabe Jackson. Day had no other SEC offers and Jackson at max had one. Sherrod was pretty well recruited, IIRC.
