My only fear for Clemson in a National Title game with bama is simply this...Bama has been there and more often then Dabo and Clemson. Not Saying Clemson can't win, because I think they might, but make no mistake, Bama will be the best team Clemson will have faced all year when/if it occurs.

Any team is a threat these days. All it takes is for your team to be complacent, and the other team hungry.

I can tell you one thing Alabama has accomplished during the Saban era that Gaglahoma and Auburn By The SC Lake have NOT.

Actually more than one..win a national championship.

Karma has been a real bitch this year, and Alabama would LOVE to get a shot at the Okies or the Urbans make no mistake about that. They will be facing one pissed off team if that happens. Motivation will be no problem.

Motivation shouldn't have been a problem last year. I mean it was a playoff game to play for the national title

Yep. All we heard for weeks was we were going to get blown out and had no chance. Sooners jumping on and collapsing the ESPN stage while they stammered for their explanations and excuses in the post game interview was the cherry on top
And the next year you guys got raped by Clemson in the Citrus Bowl. See how this works.

They have the talent to beat Alabama but that defense needs to get their shite together. They may not beat UNC.

The way the struggled with FSU leads me to believe that Bama can handle them easily if Bama takes care of the ball.

however, there is no one on that staff that is equal at their respective positions to anyone on Alabama's. PLayers? It's about the same thing.

One key thing though that can make up for a lot of that:

Watson > Coker by a significant margin right now.

Clemson had no business winning against LSU in the Peach Bowl.

LSU half-assed that game and still would have won if not for some of the stupidest coaching moves of all-time at the end.

Yep. I see two elite defenses in the top 10. Alabama and Ohio State. They both have players you have to scheme around or they will disrupt whatever you're trying to run. No other team in the top 10 has that luxury.

Anybody in the Top 10 is a "threat" to Alabama. Clemson is very good and would be a very tough out. So would Ohio State (obviously). Oklahoma as well because of their balanced offense.

There are currently 5 BIG XII teams (half the conference) ranked above Alabama in rushing offense with TEXAS TECH ranked only two spots below Alabama. Baylor is the #5 rushing team in the country.

Baylor had played 3 homeless guys and a cripple before they played Oklahoma. GTFOH with their raw stats. They don't mean shite.

If you look at the actual advanced stats that account for opponent strength the figures don't look nearly as rosy

Big XII Rushing S&P+
#5 - Texas Tech
#16 - Baylor
#20 - Kansas State
#31 - West Virginia
#34 - Iowa State
#40 - Oklahoma
#60 - Texas
#66 - TCU
#118 - Oklahoma State
#119 - Kansas

SEC Rushing S&P+
#2 - LSU
#9 - Arkansas
#13 - Texas A&M
#15 - Georgia
#18 - Alabama
#33 - Tennessee
#44 - Auburn
#47 - South Carolina
#48 - Mississippi State
#49 - Kentucky
#57 - Ole Miss

Have you watched Clemson this season? Yes, they are a threat. That's a damn good football team and can give a game to anyone in the country. They may lose in the playoffs or perhaps to NC, games are games after all, but right now they deserve the #1 ranking.

Clemson is most definitely capable of beating Bama. They have a good mobile QB, good skill players and a good enough defense. There's not a team that might make the playoffs that wouldn't give Bama a tough game, with the possible exception of Okie Light. That said, with our defense, Bama will be a tough out for anyone as well.

Also, shock, the SEC actually has some pretty efficient and effective passing attacks. Just because you throw 55 times and throw for 500 yards on those 55 attempts doesn't necessarily make you good or efficient. And about half the Big XII teams suck at passing.

50% of the Big XII teams are 40th or worse in Passing S&P+

Big XII Passing S&P+
#3 - Baylor
#10 - TCU
#11 - Oklahoma
#27 - Oklahoma State
#32 - Texas Tech
#41 - West Virginia
#79 - Iowa State
#101 - Texas
#113 - Kansas State
#119 - Kansas

29% of the SEC teams are 40th or worse in Passing S&P+

SEC Passing S&P+
#1 - Arkansas
#2 - Ole Miss
#13 - Mississippi State
#23 - Georgia
#24 - Florida
#33 - Tennessee
#34 - LSU
#36 - Alabama
#39 - South Carolina
#47 - Auburn
#82 - Kentucky
#111 - Missouri
#114 - Vanderbilt

i disagree with this, ND has a better QB and WR, UNC has a better QQB, FSU has a better QB and in my opinion a better RB and better defense.

Alabama is a one dimensional team that has 1 loss at home to a mediocre Ole Miss team who can't run the ball. and almost loss at home to a soft Tenn team

we heard about Bama's hard schedule last year and best team in history of the world and they flamed out against OSU, as did all the top teams in the SEC west.

Clemson has a much better offense than Bama and much more balanced on offense.

(a) I agree, if you combined all of those things together to make one team, yes it would be better than Alabama

(b) FSU has a better run defense? I mean, wut?
