Is Allen the starting QB & what does the returning team as a whole look like?

Returning pieces on offense: QB, top 3 RB's, top 2 FB's, 1 starting WR, 1 starting TE and 4 of the starting OL.

Returning pieces on defense: 1 starting DL (4 of 8 from the main rotation), 2 starting LBs, 3 of top 4 CB/NB's and all three Safeties that play.

The defense is garbage though so those numbers are deceiving.

Allen will be the starting QB, its the OL that needs fixed. Recruiting is about what we expect, filling so needs but we need to close with a good DLman in this class.

We lose one OL position but have got to improve on both sides of the line. Hell, we need help everywhere and may need to run some position coaches off and start over. Is that gloom enough?

Sounds like his seat is on fire right now. Things change so fast because a year ago he was hyped as one of the best coaches in the SEC and the fans claimed that his record was improving every year. He was always a bad fit in Arkansas with his pro style offense . Arkansas doesn't seem to be scared of hiring guys with a lot of baggage so they should go after Briles or Kiffin after next year.

He's here 2 more seasons regardless of the record and I'm fine with it. LSU fired a proven winner for a coach with the worst resume in D1 and no chance of getting another offer. I would like to think Arkansas avoids a train wreck situation like that.

We are giving coaches everything they need to be successful. Facilities, Money, Travel etc... It's on the coaches to go out and sell that to recruits.

We just need someone that can recruit better. It's hard with our location, but it's bullshite to think we can't recruit better than we currently are.

It is funny how things change in just one game

I don't know. Petrino ran a pro style offense and it was fine. You mean a run heavy focus. I don't think its the schemes that are the issue.

We are never going to hire Briles with Long especially after the Petrino fiasco. Kiffin is a different story. Hiring Kiffin would certainly be a fun ride no matter how it ended.

I believe it was Lou Holtz who was quoted saying something like, we've got a lot of players returning next season. Their not very good that's the problem

I agree but I don't think it could get much better realistically. We normally have recruited between 20-25. I think about 15 is the ceiling with our current history. That would still put us behind a good amount of teams in the SEC.

What about the entire history of our program makes you think this is true?

But if we are recruiting around 15th or 20th nationally and even if there's 10 sec schools ahead of us our talent won't be so far behind that we get beat 56-3. We've got the talent to be competitive
