South Carolina isn't even 3rd in the league right now.

The top of the league is going to be good next season. Florida, Kentucky, Arkansas, and South Carolina will likely be the same four teams atop the standings.

Im not sure Kentucky is entirely on another level than the other three mentioned. They only had to play Arkansas and South Carolina once each and got both of them at home this season. Those are two tough road games they avoided this year that they will not avoid next season.

SEC basketball is going to take a quantum leap next year with Bama, Auburn, Miss State, and Vandy all becoming a threat to USC and UF for 2nd and 3rd in the league. Big Blue is still on another level, but tier 2 in the league is about to get real interesting.

I appreciate the support, but without Thornwell, we aren't going to finish in the top 3. Hell, we fell to 4th place, behind arky just a week ago.

I have been disappointed this season in the bulldogs, but you can see the talent on the team. We have to find some leadership somewhere and we have another good class coming in. He could be getting on the hot seat this time next year if we are like 3-15 in SEC play.

Don't know...I do expect mediocrity from LSU football though.

I do also so that drives my answer to OP. Of course mediocrity to LSU is 7-5 through 9-3 so that's not an extreme prediction.

Generally I would tend to assume there would be no heat on bball while football is disheveled.

He's almost as over-hyped as JJ at LSU. Talk about underachieving. JJ still does less with more, IMO.

There was like a 10 page thread a couple of weeks ago announcing the 2nd coming of Calipari. What happened?

Maybe hot seat if they regress next year. But no way you should fire a coach until after year 4 at least without extreme circumstances

I think what most people don't realize is that State's best post player was ruled academically ineligible this year and had to take a redshirt. A 4.0 student.

He's going to be wrecking most of the league next year so it really doesn't matter if he's on the hot seat or not.
