I have a bunch of buddies whose kids underachieved and decided to go to 13th to 16th grade at bama, or mostly the deke house, and they have been complaining of all the out of state students, particularly of the Northern persuasion. Some of even said bama is or is about to be a majority out of state school. (Apparently “the machine” has concerns on these foreign invaders and their strange ideas of equity, fairness, justice and all that bull. )

Is Bama a majority OSS already?

Yep just looked it up moving in on 60% out of state and going up yearly. Bear Bryant is probably rolling over in his grave. All his work to make Southern College Football get its “just due” and Bama just gives it all away. First hires a Yankee Satan Worshiper as a coach and soon entire school will be run by Yankees.

I love how you guys try to portray this as a negative. There are no less Alabama kids there, but the influx of out of state students has lead to a pretty bad arse transformation of the campus and surrounding area.

Some older grads think it's bullshite because their favorite hole in the wall bar isn't there anymore. I'm an out of state southerner, but have no problem with the northerners.

Some of their fans are extremely insecure and on the hunt for anything against Alabama. I’m not even a fan of either school but hell, don’t have to be in order to watch this shite show carry on 7 days a week.

It’s human nature to want to be a part of something special. Open it up for the entire country to enjoy. I guess parading around in purple and piss yellow silk is not as cool as you think. Listen, the rapey vibe is viewed as a negative. Get your shite together!

Let's pretend it is 60%. For fun, tell me what percentage of that would need to be northerners to reach a 51% yankee student body.

They might start coming to LSU more if you would all stop raping them.

GTFO. Deke’s are shite at every southern school.

Also schools like Bama, OM, UGA, etc. have a very strong Greek life but Deke’s are the lower end of the spectrum

I know several over last few years from la that got better scholarships from bama than lsu and that’s why they left
Same thing with miss st
These schools have to recruit out of state to remain competitive academically

You're getting hate, but you're absolutely right. One out of ten northern kids is fine, but the rest are cultural misfits who sully their SEC school.

DKE is old row and very old money at Bama, you have no idea what you speak of.

And I agree the school has traded its culture for out of state tuition checks and new buildings. I don’t like it, but the checks I write aren’t big enough for them to care and Alabama doesn’t produce enough instate students who meet the profile to sustain the target enrollment numbers they decided they have to have.

So now they take the 2nd and 3rd tier kids from IL, CA and wherever else they can find them and pretend it’s progress. It’s not.

Here's a breakdown of the numbers in 2019 couldn't find more recent enrollment information.

2019

Of the 38,103 undergraduate, professional and graduate students enrolled at UA in the fall semester of 2019,

39.7% come from Alabama
56.5% come from elsewhere in the United States
3.8% are international students from 76 countries
56.4% are women
43.5% are men

Alabama has more undergraduates from Texas or more Western states than Northern regions.

It's been effort to bring in more diverse talent from all over USA/worldwide as of late also because of the disparity in Alabama public schools vs Private schools you don't have as many college ready seniors in state.
