It is a natural rivalry with a lot of meaning to the older fans - it just needs some time to return to being considered important by the younger fans (anyone born after the late 80s). If A&M beats LSU to ruin our season one year or there's some controversial plays it will happen faster.
This year.

As far as tradition, HELL no! As far as how well teams are playing currently and the added fact Alabama has our former coach, HELL yes! If Saban went somewhere else I don't think LSU fans would really care too much whether Bama wins or loses.

I don't now, there a team in the way, like the rest.

LSU/Bama is much bigger now because the Vols are now an afterthought on the national scene. And I don't see that changing anytime soon.

LSU v. Bama will never be on the same level as TSIO or the IB.

Especially if we continue to win the match up.

LSU never stained their program by hiring Fat Fulmer. If UT doesn't win a single game for 100 years I would still want Bama to treat UT the way Rome did Carthage.

Bama =Rome
LSU = Visigoths
Les Miles = Alaric.
You're fricked

Is Bama lsu bigger rivalry now than the 3rd saturday in october?
No.

The third Saturday in October means nothing on the national scene. For older Bama and Vol fans I'm sure it has some meaning. Younger Vol fans see Florida as more of a rivalry than they do Bama. The last 20 years have contributed to that. It could mean something again if UT douses the dumpster fire and rebuilds with a legit coach who can actually return them to prominence. That is five years down the line minimum though.

You don't get it. It doesn't matter that it "means nothing on a national scene". TSIO will always mean more to Bama fans than the LSU-Bama game. Sorry to burst your bubble.

This is what I've been telling Arky fans about A&M/LSU

LSU hates Bama, but Bama doesn't hate LSU. That's not a rivalry.
Too cool for school bruh

Yup.
I hope y'all progress into a rivalry. I'm tired of (some) LSU fans trying to steal ours.

Well seeing as we've already played LSU in football more than Auburn has, I have a suspicion it won't be difficult. Especially given the O&G boom in Houston.

In response to the OP-
As I see it
UA v AU
UA v Tenn
UA v LSU
LSU isn't that high on their hierarchy of hate.
For LSU it is
LSU v Tulane...no wait they don't play football anymore I don't think
LSU v Ole Miss More of a Tailgate rivalry
LSU v. everyone we hate all you bastards but none so much as our coaching staff given the weekend
