Au will be better next year but until they beat Bama (4-5), LSU (5-6 including 13), UGA(4-5) and TAMU(1-?) Record over the past 5 years. I consider those as L's. The schedule is pretty damn tough next year.

I'm all about being optimistic, and it could very well happen, but I wouldn't bet my bank account on it.

LSU (5-6 including 13),

LSU has quietly taken 6 out of the last 7 games from AU.

BCS game would be huge, we have practically everyone returning.

It only takes ONE special player to separate a National Championship calibur team from a team that will lose 3-4 games (see AU 2010)

Nick Marshall may just be that player.

Didn't Texas return more starters this year than anyone?

Since when did we need anyone special at QB to win a national championship?

CLIFFS -tl:dr

It's not far fetched to think AU will be contending for the west next year. IMO, with the direction Gus has them going in and all the talent we have coming back its almost idiotic to think they wouldn't. IDK about the NC, that's kind of a stretch but isn't impossible by any means.

AUs schedule is tough but I don't see a game on there that screams loss. I could be wrong but I don't think A&M is even in the mix next year if JFF leaves. As an AU fan I have first hand knowledge of how losing a superstar QB effects a team. Look at A&Ms defense.... I just don't see them as a threat next year at all.

Bama this year isn't what they've been, next year will prob be worse. LSU is losing so much on O just when they've found their sweet spot. Next year we will see how good of a cord Cam C really is. It's obvious he's a good one but with all LSU is losing he'll be great if their offense is good next year.

My extremely early prediction of the SECCG 14' would be
AU/UA vs UF/UGA but a lot happens between now and then so it's too early to tell.

Possible but I just think y'all are still 2+ years away from being a true contender for the west

It happens next year or it doesn't happen for a while. As pointed out, we have 25-26 seniors next year. We will have a significant dropoff in 2015.

In 2010 your o line was quite the unit which doesn't get enough credit.
What will the o line be like in '14 for Auburn?
