They aren't the same as aTm, but I think a 9 and 3 season is probable. The schedule is brutal. I think we drop one on the road to either OM, MSU, or KSU; one to either LSU, USC or aTm at home; and one to UGA or Bama on the road.

Ah that which aubies love to overlook. The players Chizik the defensive minded coach brought in, are getting close to being gone. We then get to see how Gus really does on defense. Smart money's on not so good

Was our defense good last year? I must've missed that. It's not like we can get that much worse on that side of the ball.

A couple of the worst D's in the history of Auburn football.....but the Arky fan had to figure out a way to take a shot at Gus.

Lol.

Why would we take a step back defensively? That is retarded.

And our offense should be better as well.

All around, stupid as frick analogy.

Congrats.

Malzahn has brought in more 5*s on defense the past 2 years than Chizik did in 4 years.

2014 AU will be considerably better than 2013 A&M. AU will actually field a defense, and their offense won't rely on one guy to do it all. AU is probably the favorite - or should be - to win the SEC. No one really expected A&M to finish better than 3rd in sec west in 2013.

Absolutely don't think AU is wrong to expect a good to great season BUT I think A&M's expectations last season were way more valid. Its like if Auburn had gotten one more year with Cam.

Nonetheless, I still think the West is wide open. I wouldn't be surprised to see any of the usual suspects (UA, AU, LSU) in Atlanta. A&M and OM COULD surprise. And if they aren't there I guarantee they will spoil the shite out of someone's season.

I think Lawson's injury will hurt auburn. Dude is a monster. Heard on xm91 that he tore his acl, but I just googled it and nothing about that popped up. His dad said in an interview that he had a bone bruise, last I checked you don't have surgery for a bone bruise. Not sure what to believe abt that. Offense will still be good.

you're discrediting chiziks eye for talent then

without his approved talent you don't win the natty in 2010

Hmm, I wasn't aware of him recruiting the senior laden 2010 team from ISU.

Then you need some glasses. You realize Chizik really only had one full recruiting class before that season? Aside from Cam (who he allegedly opposed) and Mike Dyer, most of that team was built from Tuberville's recruiting...most importantly that offensive line.
But whatever it takes to make you believe that Gus can't recruit defensive players, which was really your point.
