This started out as a frick Bama thread, but little did I know LSU fans were lying when they said they were glad UF beat them.

I know a lot of UGA ppl rooting for Bama because they think the more championships Saban acquires the faster he'll leave

How in the hell can Bama beat up on everyone for so many years in a row and not be more hated? Has Bama made everyone quit?

Probably already been said, but in no way am I "rooting" for Bama, I just understand that a Bama win will ensure that Auburn goes to the Sugar Bowl.

A Florida win and Auburn doesn't go to the Sugar Bowl.

Ergo, my preference is for a Bama win. I got what I needed from UF when y'all won the WLOCP and Hurricane's Revenge. Now? frick y'all.

I am not pulling FOR the gators. I am pulling for bama to lose. Vegas saying +24, so I am not even going to watch the game, however.

I will root for Bama because I am an SEC guy. I'm not talking about tomorrow, tomorrow is a given. I'm talking about in January.

I imagine with the multitude of 4 loss teams and fall from grace as the dominant conference, there are likely many more SEC fans pulling for Bama to win out than UF to win tomorrow.

Not because of any SEC Homer BS but because conference strength (even if only perceived) matters more now for the current year and initial rankings going into the next year for one's own team to get the committee's all important benefit of the doubt, eye test vote than ever before.

In that way, the CFB playoffs have truly made OOC schedules and conference bowl records that much more important

Splain yourself. How did this so called test get applied so far this season?

Perception that the Big 10 is vastly superior to all others has tOSU ranked #2 in spite of their horrible Oct, lack of power run game, inaccurate albeit talented QB, with a couple of late season blowouts over a dual QB centric Nebraska team that had its QB knocked out and a horrible Terp team, and a close home win over a UM team that outplayed them for most of the game with its own injured QB, which likely contributed to the game changing INTs.

This is not CUMs top 3-4 team in his coaching career. No way it should get in over PSU if PSU beats Wisky.

I think it entirely the perception of the Big 10s overall strength (created from a top heavy conference with key OOC wins coupled with a lack of real mediocre team and a lot of cellar dwellers that didn't dilute the top 4-5 w-L records).

Likewise, aTm inflated mid-season ranking was a direct result of perceived SEC conference strength
