No. WVU has won 3 BCS bowls.

The issue is that WVU is at its peak now, while Mizzou has a lot more ceiling.

I have said this all along. The Ruffians were a good add for the SEC. Huge TV markets, solid academics, and a good overall athletic program. Sure, they wanted to the B1G at first, but poll those guys now. They are all in for the SEC.

Well Georgia has been on the decline since the Clemson loss. Although even with a dinged up Georgia team Mizzou's win is still impressive.

Congrats Mizzou

Before they were recruited to the SEC I noticed they were seemingly always high in the rankings in both football and basketball. I'm not surprised they're doing well. The SEC chose Mizzou as A&M's entry partner because both the school and its athletic program are superior.

I'm not. They had a lot of injuries last year, and they've never been a bad team under Pinkel.

Of course the game on Saturday was a lose/lose for the Tigers.

Missouri gets blown out and the rant shouts "we told you so, it was all the weak schedule."

Missouri blows UGA out, and the rant shouts "Great job, you beat an overrated and delpleted UGA."
Nothing new it was like that in the Big 12 as well. When we beat #1 Oklahoma we heard how overrated they were, The last time we played and beat Texas it was because they were beat up.

It was just a matter of time.
Many from the SEC didn't have a clue about the Tigers from CoMo, so they played the "I'm uninformed; I'll just slam 'em" card.
Coupled with their hoops program, Mizzou was a solid get for the conference.

I thought for sure this would be Pinkels last year at Mizzou, so I was surprised by their winning yes.

Of course, this homer is not surprised.

Last year was the pits with many injuries (our own summer camp) and key player, Josey, out all season. Franklin was recovering from major shoulder surgery, and not anywhere near peak form. But everyone knows that is why depth is so important.

I know this is useless to say....but once again will try. Most Mizzou fans did not want to go BIg 10 route over chance at SEC. We just wanted out of Big 12-2+2-2...

When SEC became an option.....euphoria broke out. If you want to improve...play the BEST!!!

Speaking of Texas, A&M would have kicked their butts if they would have played the last two years.

Not surprised. How could any Aggie be surprised when they routinely kicked A&M's butts in the later years of the B12? I'm glad to see them healthy and more successful... until Nov. 30, of course.

All of this.

And yes, WVU won 3 BSC bowl games. THEY GOT IN BECAUSE THEY WERE IN THE FREAKING BIG EAST!!!!!! Now that they have better competition in Conference Bevo? Let's see when they sniff a top bowl again.

but I probably would not have put money on a 6-0 start.

I don't think any but the crazies within Mizzou's own fan base would have put money on a 6-0 start before the season started. I still don't consider Mizzou to be in any race for the east. If Mizzou manages to find a way to beat UF, SC, UT, UK, OM and A&M, then I MIGHT believe we have a chance to win the east.

I am pleased with their performance.

It should be known that the SEC defenses are collectively down this year. Enjoy it. Are playing well.

Let's be honest. They haven't played a solid D yet. Let the season play out before we crown a champ.

4 SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week awards and 1 SEC Defensive Player of the Week award beg to differ. Mizzou's defense has been pretty good this year. 2nd in sacks. 1st in interceptions.

EDIT: See my post below.

What happened with the B1G and Mizzou? Was it an academic (research program) thing, or was it more of Mizzou's choice? I heard both when the chaos was beginning

Delany wants two things in expansion.
1. Notre Dame
2. Eastward Expansion (See Maryland + Rutgers)

This bears repeating over and over again. At no time were we offered a choice between the SEC and the Big 10m and then preferred the Big 10. We wanted out of the Big 12 at the time, and there had always been a faction that wanted MU in the Big 10. It was seen as a 'natural' fit by some, but I never saw it, and wasn't ever for it, though I held my nose and supported the idea at the time-mainly because of what the CIC would have meant to the university as an academic institution.

But once I caught wind of a possibility of moving to the SEC, I became ( and was one of the first) to start agitating on boards like this to go for it. Once more of us understood that was a real possibility, a tidal wave of letters to the powers that be at the university from the fanbase swept in and swept MU into the SEC. Yeah, there's still a few eastern oriented snobs who think we should be Big 10, the the VAST majority of us want to be nowhere else than where we are.

Especially this year
