Completely agree. This hire might have been just what the doctor ordered to shake the conference of of it's rut.

I mean he was successful in the Billy Gillispie and John Pelphrey era of the SEC.

That era was arguably better than this one. He had little to no trouble with the 06-07 Gators and made his only elite 8 when Wall/Cousins were at UK.

The rest of the league was on par with where it is now, if not slightly better.

It's only a matter of time before we're one of the SEC's top programs. Man I'm giddy!

Vandy was better for sure, but I don't agree with the rest of the conference.

Didn't Florida have two NIT trips during his tenure?

Yes, after the O4s left together after their junior year. Big holes existed everywhere on the roster and many hole fillers transferred.

Bruce owes Chris Lofton a lot. And how many years did Chism play? Seemed like an eternity.

He was around through our 2 NC's and 2 NIT's. Chit happens when you lose your top 6 players, and Calathes and Speights left too early.

To the devil his due, I think he is a good coach, but he underperformed in the tournament.

Yes, it was tough right after everyone left and Donovan had the brief stint with the Magic. UF still went 24-12 and 25-11 those years, and should have been in the tournament at least one of them.
