Nah. Is LSU going to embarrass the conference for the second straight year in the...... Whatever the frick Bowl they're in?

Seems like if Bama is not playing for a championship, there is a loss of effort.
You mean like LSU's effort last year? You know when we heard..."We didn't want to be there."

Nick Saban didn't coach a bad game, Gus Malzahn and Auburn's team just beat everything they threw at them.
Even you don't believe that.
Why wouldn't they? they won, didn't they?

in 2009 against Utah and get blown out? Their players, coaching staff, and fan may have thrown in the towel for the year. Is anybody giving the 16 points?
I think Bama will cover. I see them winning by 21. Something like 38-17.

They're liable to be a wee bit irritated at missing a chance at history because they lost a game they shouldn't have lost to a lesser team.
I thought Auburn beat them? Why would they be considered the lesser team? they are ranked higher and beat Alabama. Seems to me they proved they are the stronger team.

It's been four years since an SEC team hasn't mailed in the Sugar Bowl

sorry to disappoint, but I don't often wonder about LSU.
I bet

The only 2 bowl matchups I know of are Alabama/Oklahoma and Auburn/FSU. I'm not excited about either of them.

Actually, the two biggest things I've read and heard regarding the game were that
1. Andre Smith was the team's leader and a critical component of the O-line
2. The loss of Andre Smith and the heartbreaking loss to Florida in the 4th quarter of the SEC Championship resulted in unmotivated performance. Alabama didn't want to be there, and they didn't have their best player on the field.

Not saying I want them to win, but if thy lose it better not be because they rolled over to the frikin Sooners.... HATE that fan base.

Will frickin IOWA run through lsu again like they did in 2005?
Not likely since our coach that year announced to the team he was quitting, on the plane ride to that bowl game. I dont think the LSU team will have that sort of distraction this year.

I would take OU and the points. I think Bama will win, but it won't be the dominating beat down many are expecting.

No. "They are the best team in college football, and everyone knows it."

It's not like the Gumps have won a lot of Sugar Bowls in recent decades . They have only won one since Bryant was there and that was like 20 years ago. I mean 80% of their bandwagoneer, t-shirt and bumper sticker fan base have no memory of them winning a Sugar Bowl.
It seems like they would get up for it. I mean if it was The Independence Bowl, which they have won three times in the last decade, I could see them being bored with it. But victory in The Sugar Bowl is not something they are recently accustomed to.

Meh, Bama still has a better bowl record than LSU.

We've been accustomed to going to the BCS NCG. The Sugar Bowl seems like a step down.

This is easy to tell from many of the recent Gump threads on this board.
