I think our defense would have found a way to lose us at least 1 game no matter what conference we were in, but we're still the best team/program in Texas currently.

Nope, still worse than Baylor. UCF > Baylor > A&M > Texas/Tech > Rice > Houston > TCU > UTEP

pretty sure you don't have to worry about too many FSU/UCF battles.

This is 100% true ,but you never know. 10 years ago Baylor and OKstate never stole recruits from Texas and Oklahoma. I don't want to share any more of the Florida recruiting pie even if its just a tiny crumb.
