Yeah if sports was limited to the United States and baseball.
In the world, I would say the best rivalry is El Clasico; Real Madrid vs Barcelona.
Soccer is the world's biggest sport after all.

People get killed over boca juniors - river plate games. I was in downtown buenos aires trying to get to la boca, and when I told the cabbie where I wanted to go he refused to even drive me to that area of town.
Pretty sure If a poor Argentinian cab driver would rather refuse service than get a big fare, the rivalry is bigger than the iron bowl.

Celtics-Rangers is the best rivalry in sports. The Iron Bowl is definitely Top 5 or 10.

No it isn't. Red Sox / Yankees is better.

Tame compared to Celtics-Rangers, aka "The Old Firm."

In a playoff game maybe or a late September game that means something... otherwise, I don't see how a random regular season sox/Yankees game has the same feel as an iron bowl... but whatever.

It's impossible to quantify... Its all about what it means to the individual.
I don't get how OSU/mich can be that big a deal as an instate rivalry bc those fans don't interact on the same level... but that's my opinion.

If roll tide/ war eagle is the best 30 for 30 espn can do on the rivalry than it must not be a very good rivalry.

Every Iron Bowl I go to my local Hardee's for breakfast (Vestavia Hills in Bham) and I love to see all of the Old People wearing their BAMA or Auburn Gear drinking free coffee and talking shite to each other.
Nothing can better define the Iron Bowl than this experience. It is ingrained in us Alabamian's.

It might not be the best but Red Sox/Yankees? When did we jump back to the 90's?

But on a national scope? Meh.
Is that why the last FIVE winners of this game have gone on to play for the NATIONAL championship? And four of the last five winners have won the NATIONAL championship?
I'm not here to proclaim the IB as the best rivalry in all of sports but to say this game doesn't have national implications is just ignoring the facts.
