Leaning ISU. Bama fans tell me why this may be a bad bet. Appreciate it.

I wish I could tell you that it's a bad bet, but I would be lying.

I doubt it's a bad bet at all. You're getting us at home and we haven't beaten a ranked opponent in a very long time.

This year's Alabama team is different from past years. We have multiple scoring options, we don't play tight and robotic on offense and we don't wait on one guy to carry the load like we did with Trevor. It is a much more fun team to watch.
With that said, we have no clue if they are any good. We've beaten 3 bad teams. Iowa State is a very solid team with a great head coach. I really hope we play well and have a shot to win in the end, but it wouldn't surprise me if we were down 34-22 and halftime and lost 77-60.

My bad, ESPN kept referencing it like an ISU home game.
Anyway, I still don't think it would be a bad bet - with the possible exception that Alabama is a complete unknown at this time.

Because it seems like a no-brainer.

Lets just say if we play ISU to single digit deficit the whole way and lose by 7 or 8 I will feel pretty good about it. And you'd still lose the bet.
Bet ISU.
Bet ISU.

I'm not a Iowa State fan. And its a neutral site game but it will have more ISU fans im sure.

I meant if you took Bama to cover the 6.5. My point is only my rosiest crimson color glasses see us winning or losing by less than 7.
But, nobody really knows, because neither of us have really played anyone any good (ISU did pound GA State and they are solid). But past performance leads one to believe ISU will win comfortably.

I'll be taking Alabama because of blind faith, but this line seems fishy which would make me wary if I actually wanted to take ISU.

I would and have taken ISU already

We traditionally play like runny shite away from Coleman. Playing a good team away from Coleman could potentially get ugly. At the time, it looks like a good bet.

The only slivers I have are (a) this really does appear to be a different team style and mentality wise and (b) the line is weird
But, if you put a gun to my head, we are the same team as always and we play like crap and lose by 18.

Just because it's not at Hilton doesn't mean it's not a virtual home game; lots of ISU alums living in KC and it's only about 3, 3.5 hrs from KC to Ames. I'd expect it to be a near sellout with ISU folks comprising a huge majority there.
No offense to Alabama intended because I think ISU is just going to be a really, really good team. The way they shoot the ball from 3 I think they've got the potential to blow this one wide open even if Grant tries to slow the game to a snail's pace. I'd take ISU. My guess is that the final margin would be around 12 points.
ps--I also would take Arizona -15 against Mizzou if it makes you feel any better.

I like the way Bama matches up with ISU. This ISU team also has a very short bench(7 deep at best) and if Niang gets into any type of foul trouble they don't have anybody who can step in and replace him.

They get two of their guys back from suspension that will really help them, but like you said, Niang getting into foul trouble would be ideal.
