This year, Arkansas had a 8 game stretch before a bye week and in the 8th game went on the road @ Auburn who was coming off a bye. #21 Auburn beat #17 Arkansas 56-3.

In 2001, Auburn had a 8 game stretch before a bye week and in the 8th game went on the road @ Arkansas who was coming off a bye. Unranked Arkansas beat #17 Auburn 42-17.

These are the only times since Arkansas joined the SEC that either Arkansas or its opponent went on the road in their 8th+ game before a bye against an opponent coming off a bye.

edit: why the frick are people downvoting this? The IQ on this board is even worse than I thought.

Yes, yes we are.

I'd be interested to know if any other SEC teams have encountered this scenario since 1992, and if so, what were the outcomes. I'm not doing the research...

Good old fashioned legwork. I went through every Arkansas schedule since 1992.

I'm not going to research it either, but Bama had that going to ut in 2015 but didn't lose. Probably had something to do with ut keeping it close, and certainly had a lot do do with their fan's overconfidence going into this year's game.

The scenario is probably more common than you would think. Bama had the same thing this past weekend except for being at home rather than on the road. They were playing their eighth straight game with aTm coming off a bye.
