with his head.
Pretty dangerous move. Dooley hasn't done much to improve the TN reputation left behind by Kiffen.

Idiot hit him in the shoulder pads.
He should take a note from Fairley and learn to aim for the lower spine.

He is right. It is a dangerous hit. Not just for the UNC player, but for himself too

He was aiming for his head

Actually, that picture makes it look like he was trying to lead with his shoulder, but did hit him with his head. Not sure if you realize, but your head sticks out above your shoulders making it difficult to lead with your shoulder and not ever hit a moving target with your head.
Besides, UTk should have won anyway because they should have been given time to substitute when UNC sent their field goal unit out. Game would have ended right then.

I really wish that hit wasn't penalized, it was such a great hit.

Hmm...why did they make a rule against it?

Not according to the head of officials for the NCAA. But, I'm betting audodger is more qualified to make that call.

im convinced that Janzen's intent was to hit the ball - not the guys head - good intention, very aggressive...if he dislodges that ball, then UT prob wins! If i was his coach Id say "Love the aggressiveness, just AIM BETTER" .. now 20 wind sprints.. lol

You ever play football? That's not a natural position for your head.
That's old school spearing. And, when you consider the fact that he launched himself in the air (another non-natural football play), it's pretty clear that he was trying to hurt the guy.

Funny, you can tell who the ones are that never played football at any level.
The first thing you are taught is to always, ALWAYS, hit with your head up, so as to not injure your own neck.
Once you dip your head down, and lead with the crown, you're doing nothing but spearing and increasing the chances of injuring yourself, and the one you're spearing.
