Vandy was preseason number 7. Decent teams should not beat them on their home floor.

They are 6-4 after being preseason 7 though....

We're a football school now.

Besides, it's way too early to be talking basketball. Nobody cares about basketball until late January anyway. Just win enough to get in the tourney (which we are not on pace to do at this point). And if we do, this will just make the inevitable 1st round loss less painful.

No, Vandy's a baseball school. They've produced a ton of talent in recent years and have one of the premier baseball programs in the country. Their great academics actually is a benefit instead of a hindrance with baseball recruits. Full scholarships are rare in college baseball so players have to contribute financially their education. It makes more sense to pay money to attend one of the best schools in the south than a lesser institution.
