Yup, right down to the rb getting injured at a critical time, and being carved up by an amazing qb in the 4th quarter.
Kind of funny when it happens to someone else

This thread was made for LSU

Kentucky pulled off the greatest comeback in college basketball history tonight, rallying from 31 points down with 15 minutes 30 seconds to play to defeat Louisiana State, 99-95, at Baton Rouge, La. "I can't believe it," Kentucky Coach Rick Pitino said. "I know I've never, ever witnessed anything like it."

1994 LSU at Auburn

With a 23-9 lead at end of 3rd quarter, AU starting QB Patrick Nix went out with an injury and backup Dameyune Craig came in.
LSU likely could have handed off for the rest of the game and the score would have remained 23-9 as Craig was clearly shaky and couldn't move his team an inch.

But no. OC Lynn Amedee (I'm assuming backed by HC Curley Hallman) called passing plays and Jamey Howard threw 2 Pick 6s and nearly a 3rd and LSU lost 30-28.

That was like the Twilight Zone....

Alamo Bowl vs TCU

Oregon blew a huge lead but their stud QB and center got hurt. I felt bad for Oregon that nite.

People are underestimating just how spectacular of a collapse the Falcons really had.

Teams blow 25'ish points leads on occasion, but they don't do it within basically 1 quarter of game time.

In the championship game...

Teams with 18 or more point leads entering the 4th quarter were 105-0 in NFL playoff history. The Falcons made it 105-1

Not even close. Bama's lead peaked at 14 in the 2nd quarter and the game was 14-7 at halftime.

The Falcons were up 25 points very late in the 3rd and entered the 4th quarter up 19.

There may never be another collapse as great as the Falcons.

In terms of sheer numbers, Houston/Buffalo in 1993 was worse (Buffalo trailed 35-3 in the 3rd quarter and won 41-38 in overtime), as was Michigan State/Northwestern in 2006 (Michigan State trailed 38-3 in the 3rd quarter and won 41-38 in regulation).

However, in terms of magnitude, the Falcons' collapse was far worse.

1994 LSU/Auburn. I broke the chair I was sitting in on the last pick 6. Wooden rocking chair. Split in two.

I was at that game as a UK fan and watching the crowd was a good as the game itself... I literally felt bad for the LSU fans I was with and I could not enjoy the moment like I would if it were a hard fought neck and neck battle
