Yes. Doesn't make much sense. Let's see where even the LSU's of the world come in line when it comes to baseball talent levels:

MLB
Triple A
Double A
High A
Low A
Single A Short Season
Rookie
Division 1 (probably actually pushed by JUCO where kids go to enter draft after 1 year).

Dude, Division 1 baseball is so far down the pecking order of talent, there is no comparison.

So, Kentucky has the Reds and UGA and Auburn has the Braves close by.

And what do UK, UGA and Auburn have in common when it comes to baseball? Yeah, they barely pay attention to it. At least when compared to the likes of MSU, LSU, SC and some of the others.

Won't argue with that statement.

You realize that good SEC programs get kids that are drafted in the top 5 rounds of the MLB draft to not sign and play in college?

Also, what is this pro baseball you speak of? I know that the professional level has the Yankees and Red Sox, but I don't think I've ever seen another pro baseball team shown on television.

Yes. Mizzou had the highest drafted player come to school instead of going pro last year. 2nd round draft pick. But even that 2nd round draft pick would have started in low A ball and even LSU's team is not made up entirely of kids that will play pro ball. Minor league or otherwise.

Yeah I did.

In all honesty...the University has done an absolute shite job over the years of marketing the program. I'm in St. Louis and there are a shite load of commercials for football and basketball. Both basketball and football coaches do weekly interviews on multiple STL media outlets during the season and less frequent but still do them out of season.

I have heard ZERO commercials in my lifetime for the baseball program. I have heard the coach interviewed ZERO times in my lifetime in STL.

Today, Mizzou played their season opener (which they won over Southern Miss) and a second game against McNeese State. The games are NOT carried on any affiliates in STL so couldn't listen to them there. Tried like heck to get the Columbia station feed but ZERO luck online or anywhere. Look at the baseball stadium...the University has given the program ZERO attention in decades. That despite producing decent players like Ian Kinsler and Max Scherzer as of late.

Hell is college baseball even on Single A level. I know it's not AA or Triple A level.

Mike, your fricking stadium is smaller than Mizzou's. Enough said about how much y'all support it. And don't even try to convince me that UK, UGA or Auburn fans are as fanatical about college baseball as LSU, MSU and SC.

May be able to stream audio from McNeeses website. Possibly.

I think its a mcneeseathletics.com, dont know if they'll carry your game tomorrow. Mcneese beat then them the first day.

I can guarantee you that not every player on LSU's team right now would make St. Louis' single A team this coming up season.

And to answer your OP more seriously, yes, very good win for McNeese State today and a very bad loss for Mizzou today. Upset or not, was a good win for y'all.

True. There's a major difference between the talent levels of College Football/Basketball and College Baseball. I don't hate college baseball, but it's nothing I'd trash talk over.lol. Especially when the best talent usually go pro, then add in the Latin Players, talent level is crazy for those 18-20yr olds.
