Could they get caught up in this whole thing as well? They don't run that school out of a dedication to education, they are looking to create new clients for themselves.

Agreed, they suck and it is BS that they can operate at all.

Absolutely. Some of these 7 on 7 teams and IMG have been mentioned in other coxnversations. I said this is another thread, but imo basketball is only the beginning.

No clue but IMO, the IMG Academy is just the natural extension of major college sports down into high school. Why pretend to be doing book lernin if you have no intention of playin skool when you get to your college team? IMG should be a combo trade school/sports factory. The trades are looked down on in the US so unfairly and we could use more failed athletes succeeding in life.

I have never understood how athletes are allowed to go there and still be eligible for college. The school is literally run/owned by a sports agency.

If they meet the standards for accreditation, it doesn't matter who owns/runs a school. There are plenty of accredited religious schools that are run by churches whose primary interest is keeping kids in the fold. Not exactly any nobler, really. But they meet the standards, hire the teachers, and take the tests, so they have as much right as anyone else, including sports agencies, to run a private school.

I had always wondered if IMG Academy was connected to THAT IMG. It's tricky business but if they pass their accreditation then I don't have a big problem with it *but* that's mainly because IMG is not some fly by night operation as many of the sports agents looking to manipulate and use high school and college kids are.

IMG is who I'd want representing my arse if I were involved in sports or entertainment. They are a fricking powerhouse agency and while their motives are hardly pure they have no need to stoop to the shite the other guys do in order to get people to sign. Hell, just having their name tacked on the building is enough. Usually people are knocking down their doors to get represented.

Also, if you do sign with them you're going to get the best representation available at standard industry rates and without the shadiness that goes along with so many other agencies. Hard to beat that and why I give them more of a pass than I would others.

I would think IMG would get popped for tennis well before football considering that was what they were founded for in the late 70s.
