I'll add that AT&T is more prone to gameday problems than Verizon just because of the whole GSM vs CDMA thing.

I've been to some remote arse places in west texas and my dads had full service (Verizon) while I've had none (AT&T). I'm talking places where if your car breaks down you'll be walking for a loooong time before you find anyone. The verizon commercials are true!

In some places yes. I think in general Verizon has better rural service because they bought up so many small carriers.
None whatsoever. At my house in Arkansas I used to have full signal. Now I am lucky to get 1-2 bars.
