I kind of like these openers. The atmosphere before Alabama Michigan was awesome

I wouldn't mind it if I knew it was two schools that would both draw a decent amount from each fanbase.

Might as well call Atlanta, Oxford East Thursday night. Kudos for Ole Miss for selling 30k+ but how much better would it have been had the location been further west.

It doesn't happen that often and creates different wrinkle for some high profile games.

Seems like Alabama and LSU are doing it every single year. In the past few seasons, LSU has opened in Dallas twice, Atlanta, and now Houston. LSU has rarely opened the season with a home game in recent memory. 2012 was the only one in the last 5 years. The other 4 were "neutral" site game.

LSU has also only opened at home 3 times in the Les Miles era (although one of the road openers was dictated by a hurricane.) Just fewer times to use a 100,000+ seat stadium.

I'm really just sick of games in Atlanta. Not sure why we haven't scheduled one in Tampa or Nashville by this point.

Probably has something to do with the fact that there isn't a committee that plans a game for either of those cities and offers the teams millions to play there.
