For the record, I picked us to get beat three times last year (Clemson, UF, and Utah)

I have a feeling that we are going to be really, really good and all things coming out of the complex say that but no one ever says we are going to suck coming in to the season.

I'm still worried about us up front, but I do believe that there is a small possibility McElroy could be an upgrade.

I get the feeling its going to be a 9-3, 7-6, 10-9 type of game. I'd surely take the under.

That's just it: I don't think anyone believes 'Bama is going to suck this year. It wouldn't suprise this Tiger fan to learn that McElroy is a better QB than JPW. But, the losses on the O-line have to be a point of concern until the new starters prove their worth.

I think this game will be a 'Bama blowout, like 31-13 or something.

I don't know, so far I have VT this game. Bama has too many Oline questions and is playing a very good VT defense. Bama's defense will keep it close though....It may come down to QB play, who is Tech's QB?

tyrod taylor, who is said to be much improved.

the bookies are going to make a bunch of money on this game, either way.

This is my fear; in one scrimage Marcel Dareus racked up 4 sacks; he is an extremely talented player prob the best our Dline has but he is a sophmore. So unless he is a prodigy or freak of nature ala Jones then we are in trouble up front.

I've been picking VT since they want to avenge their SEC loss in BR 2 years ago when they were embarrassed on National TV. But with recent key injuries at running back it's a toss up now. I think it will be low scoring and a pretty boring defensive struggle with mistakes and turnovers determining the final score.

I think it gonna be a defensive struggle, but by no way is this game gonna be boring. Theres gonna be tons of turnovers and I see punt blocks and returns happening. It gonna be one strange football game. And Im taking VT like 17-16 FWIW.

Tyrod Taylor

147 rushing attempts 884 yds(743 net) 7 tds

99 of 173 passing 1036 yds 2 tds 7 ints

He'll be a JR this year.

Give Saban more than a week to prepare = WIN.

It better be BAMA, yall screwed up enough losing to Utah last year. You're gonna piss everyone off if you lose to VT.

Dont even know who is under center for the Hokies and you're picking them. Wow....

Tyrod Taylor can do nothing but run--and he wont be able to do it against probably the best defensive squad in the nation.

I think we win easily. 28-10

Look for the Bama offense to strike fast a demoralize the Tech D much the way they did UGA last year. The Hokie D has been hearing about a low scoring defensive battle and they're gonna get punched in the mouth and left in the dust.

On the other side of the ball, look for the Bama D line to hold and the secondary to take control of the game. With Tech's main running back out and TT's weak passing game, the Hokies become one dimensional fast. When the Bama secondary stops TT from throwing the ball the game is over and by 3rd quarter he's 75% at best.

In the end BAMA should score in the mid to upper 30s and without a big play or two from TT early Tech should easily be held under 18.

Also remember, never bet on football...
