I actually thought UT was on the right track with Butch Jones but not after seeing that abortion of a performance.
Very sound statistical sampling principles! Assess the next 26 or so games for a team on the basis of 1 game from the past season. Your stats teacher is proud!

Watched other UT games last year and the reason that one stood out was the fact that it was a home game and later in the season.You'd expect a younger team later in the season to be much more prepared for what Mizzou was doing ESPECIALLY along the defensive front. Your O-line was completly unprepared and clueless.Your O-line coached should have been dismissed on Monday.
Were you trying to quote my thread BTW? I'll be glad to help if you don't know how to do it.

One promising stat I found is that, from the bama game till the end of the year, we gave up 13 sacks. That's 6 games.
In the first 7 games of the year we gave up 30

This works well enough for me, thanks. I defer to your vastly superior football acumen, and agree that we suck from coaches to signees. Your team of future NFL Pro Bowlers has no worries from our direction until ~2035, when the as yet unborn Vols will prove up to the challenge of beating Georgia for the first time in history.

Better not sleep on the Gators, they have talent as always and Coach McElwain has proven that he knows what to do with talent.
While, the QB situation would appear to be a problem, but remember that he's won 2 natty's with 1st year QBs.
Should also point out that UT has a Florida problem.

I don't think it's a slam against UGA or SC or even UF.
West Opponents
MU = MSU(who's losing 90% of their team) and @Arky(tough game)
UT = Arky and @Bama
UGA = Bama and @Auburn
SC = LSU and @A&M
UF = OM and @LSU
Bama/LSU opponents cancel each other out. So would you rather have Arky at home? Auburn on the road? A&M on the road? OM at home? Some close ones, but I give the edge to UT. Oh, and MU doesn't play either Bama or LSU.
Returners
MU = Only players of significance they lose are Golden and Ray. Big losses. Their backups won't be stars like them this year, but they'll be solid and put up Golden/Ray numbers the following year. No other significant losses.
UT = They return almost everyone everywhere.
UGA = UGA has Chubb and he's good, but that's about it. Breaking in a new QB. Lose a lot on defense if I remember correctly.
SC = Also breaking in a new QB and a new RB. Not hit as hard on the defensive side, but is that a good thing?
UF = They're team is dismantled by the numbers leaving. They've got a new HC. Yes, they'll reload but it just won't happen next year.
If anyone benefits the most in the east in terms of players returning, it's UT. Mizzou gets hit a bit, but I'd say they get hit less than the other 3(SC/UGA/UF).
Schedule
MU = Gets SC, UF and UT at home. Goes to UGA.
UT = Gets UGA and SC at home. Goes to UF and MU.
UGA = Gets MU and SC at home. Goes to UT and TWLOCP.
SC = Gets UF at home. Goes to MU, UT and UGA.
UF = Gets UT at home. Goes to SC and MU. TWLOCP too.
Of the contenders, MU gets 3 of them at home. Toughest game is on the road to UGA. I'd give the nod to UT for next in the pecking order because if any of the contenders were beatable on the road, the most likely is UF. SC and UF's lineup of the contenders is brutal with just 1 at home. UGA probably competes with UT for 2nd in the favorability contest.
So yeah, I don't think it's farfetched to say UT and MU will compete for the east.

UGA beat you 34-0 at home and you are concerned about UT ??
Posted on 1/16/15 at 12:22 pm to 11thACR
And the year before SC beat us at home but we won the east. I'm not sure what your point is? That one game will determine who wins the east?
Posted on 1/16/15 at 12:27 pm to 11thACR
And we still won the East. They could very well beat us again, and still finish behind us.
Fluky game anyway. Not trying to say they didn't deserve to win, but our offense put up an all time shite performance in that game.

Well we broke in a new starter at RB last year at Mizzou and he left some of his dick somewhere between your transverse and ascending colon. He's been running angry ever since.

We held Chubb to by far his lowest YPC for the season. We were the only team to check him at all, in fact.
Posted on 1/16/15 at 1:23 pm to JesusQuintana
That's why I asked another Mizzou poster in another thread if your run defense would be as good next year. Hell I may even have directed it at you.
Aaaaand YPC may have been low...but he went over 150 didn't he? I wouldn't call that "in check" so much as managed how fast he put it in. It was more like he spit on it then eased it in there instead of just going straight to a dry pounding like he did with say Auburn or Louisville.

Seriously? Chubb had 38 carries for 143 yards - 3.76 ypc. That's pretty pathetic in my book. That game was won/lost by UGA's defense/Mizzou's offense. Either way, Chubb had little to do with it.

Our d-line won't be as good next year.
However, as always, the East is down.

No, it was more like he had 40 carries because our offense kept giving the ball back.

Have you thought about the amount of serraneaux threads if we are good? Is it worth that to the board?
