LSU has played a MUCH tougher schedule than Alabama. It's not even close really. Don't let the Michigan game at the beginning of the year for Alabama fool you. Michigan is a good big ten team but that translates into being an average team overall. The reason I say all of this is because people assume Alabama is better because they've won by so much. People, they haven't played anyone with a pulse. Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Missouri are all at the absolute bottom of the SEC barrel. Alabama has played a schedule equivalent to many Conference USA teams.

A big factor is LSU has a BYE week before the game, while Alabama will be playing an undefeated Mississippi State team the week before. Mississippi State isn't that great, but they're solid and this leaves Alabama with less time to gameplan for LSU and increases the chance of having injuries and players being beat up for the LSU game. LSU will be fresh and well prepared.

I'd like to point out that in the last 3 years that LSU has had a BYE game they have won every game.

2009- Auburn - W 31-10
2010 - Alabama W - 24-21
2011 - @ Alabama W - 9-6

Another factor, and arguably the biggest, is that it is a night game in Death Valley. I think that speaks for itself.

The biggest factor, revenge. You know the LSU players will be motivated like never before after getting embarrassed in the National Title game.

Alabama might be the better team, but with the 4 main factors of LSU having a LSU BYE week, it being a night game in Death Valley, bama playing a solid team the week before, and LSU wanting revenge for January, it will be too much for Alabama to overcome.

All of it.

I was right when I said the Auburn fans are the best on this site.

I think you just may be correct. Seems like far less trolling than most.

Ooooo...the oh so powerful revenge factor. You would think if this was such a powerful motivator, more teams would have beaten Alabama in the past few years. Afterall, they've beaten just about every SEC team in that period.

I'd say it worked out pretty well for LSU, South Carolina, and Auburn against Alabama in 2010 and for Alabama against LSU in the title game.

The reason you don't see it more often is because bama has had jokes of schedules these past few years aside from 2010.

look for a repeat of the BCS game, only our offense is worse.

Bama isn't as good on defense as they were last year, they don't have a running back near as good as trent, and Saban won't have a month to prepare for this game. Bama won't have the revenge factor either.

This won't be anything like the BCS game, IMO.

I love LSU football. I wish everything you said was right. Maybe Moo State has Bama gassed before they show up in Tiger Stadium. But I doubt it.

LOL, yet bama fans hyped up Saban's record in "revenge games" going into last year.

Look, a neutral field with both teams having a week to prepare and I'd take bama in a close one. That isn't the case, though. LSU has some major advantages that they will capitalize on and it will give them an advantage.

The Alabama offensive line is monstrous. Nobody including LSU is going to be able to stop those guys. Nobody in the conference can line up against them.

LSU cant complete a pass or score a TD against Towson St, how are they going to do it against Bama? A&M turned the ball over 4 times today and we cant score a TD against the worse Defense in the conference?

Yea not sure how bama can even keep the game close. I bet the LSU players are just lounging around eating cookies. This one won't be a contest

The defense is forcing more turnovers and getting to the QB more. The running game as a whole is better at this point in the season, compared to last year. That falls on a better OL than last year.

If I were you I would worry about your team, you haven't won anywhere except once in overtime.

Arkansas, Miss St, Ole Miss, and Alabama are coming up for LSU now, all are playing much better ball right now. Ive got a strange feeling (a sickening feeling) Lester's luck is about to really be put to the test.

Ok so I went back and read it. How does any of these points you mention have to do with Met over throwing receivers? Death Valley is indeed one if not the toughest place to pay at night. You failed to mention that most of the players have played in big games, and will not be in awe over the atmosphere. Last years MNC atmosphere against a LSU team, and some have been part of two MNC game atmosphere, so this could be the only team that has played in DV in a while that will not be intimidated by the crowd and the wild surroundings. I do think it will be a great TOUGH game.
