If your team was out, and you HAD to root for a different SEC team?

I have a few. I’ll start.

1) Georgia - UGA fans are basically Clemson fans these days, thinking they’re bigger than they are, because of 2 quick championships. I’d pull for them because a little more success will mature their fans a bit, to where they act like they’ve been there before, unless they completely drop off like Clemson did.

2) Missouri - It’s surprising to me that according to 247, only about 12% of college football fans even know they’re in the SEC. I’ll pull for Missouri when they don’t play LSU because I hope that changes this year, because who doesn’t love Missouri with their storied football history, enthusiastic fanbase, and loyal coaches.

3) Florida - LSU/Florida rivalry isn’t as fun when it’s so easy. Another reason I’m worried about Bama’s struggles right now.

4) A&M - I’m just hoping they overachieve this year so we can get back to calling them Texas 8&4 again.

5) Bama - With obvious leadership and staff issues, Saban is apparently going to be involved on defense. I have no issue giving him ALL credit if they were to win the natty (unfortunately they won’t, but I can dream), because I respect Saban and think he deserved to go out with a bang and not a whimper like he did, 6 years removed from his last legitimate title.

Discuss.

12% is also Louisiana's literacy rate.

OP has already been featured on Message Board Geniuses twice. Number three will tie him with Stephen and NASCARDawg,

Realistically, maybe LSU due to the geography and me not wanting to wear maroon or ring a cowbell. But I actually like South Carolina as a program.

frick LSU.

Miss St.

They have earned so good fortune from the football gods. Their basketball team is a scrappy physical team that’s fun to watch when they are rolling, and they are absolutely loaded with baseball provenance but don’t have LSUs lack of self awareness.

Tulane. More SEC champs than Arky and A&M.

Probably Tennessee. Those folks are still stuck in the 20th century and I'm rooting for them to join the rest of the world in the 21st century.

I wish that’s how this college football thing worked.

If so, we are about to go on a run that will make the saban era look like child’s play

Prolly root for Bama. Their fans are great and have always treated everyone with respect.

Probably Mizzou. I like the state and the people. I was an Alabama fan when I was very young so maybe them.

It would have to be Missouri. Not a fan of anyone else, and I like what Drink has done with that team.
