You have been severely misinformed.

I'll give you 1/3. I do think Sumlin is a better NFL prospect, though.

He's been head coach longer, I'll give you that. How many conference championships has Sumlin won? Malzahn has won 2 as a head coach.

Take off the maroon glasses. Gus recruits just fine for him to do what he wants to do. If Sumlin would have taken y'all to the national championship, Aggies would be talking about it still 100 years from now. But you scoff at Gus taking Auburn to the NC with a team that won 3 games the year prior. Both are good coaches, but I think you're letting that aggie homerism get to you on this one.

Agreed. He does have a better football mind. Would do better in the NFL, but like I said neither coach would do well

Sumlin will be jumping ship to the NFL after this year, so that should answer your question.

Auburn went after Summy before Gus, so that should tell you something.

Gus' game would not work in the NFL, IMO. It is perfect for the college game though.

Why would Sumlin leave 5 million a year in college for the nfl where he won't get paid much more and not be as successful?

$5 million buyout is nothing for Jerry Jones.

Your A&M buddy says he would make it in the NFL. I don't think he would. He's a good coach, but he can't even finish better than third in his own division, with the best A&M player ever, in the SEC.

He hasn't finished 2 or higher in the west yet with the best player in sec history. Just to correct that statement. And now we get to see the actual Sumlin offense, not the Johnny-scramble-a-round-and-do-whatever-the-hell-you-want-because-your-that-good-offense. We'll see, maybe he is an nfl quality coach.
