AJ Green or Julio Jones
Maybe I'm being a homer, but I would prefer Josh Reed.

Harvin
Considering how little Shep had been used, no thanks. That's to take nothing away from him, but I don't think he would be a good fit for LSU.

I think you are. Josh Reed was amazing, but I don't think any WR comes close to AJ and Julio in the last 20 years.

You can't compare Shep to Harvin.

offense RunDMC and it's not even close.
Defense Peterson or Berry. either one could shut down one side of the field.

Alshon Jeffery > Julio Jones

Eric Berry. UGA needs another game changer in the secondary in 2013.

Well, I would say DMAC, but LSU needs a deep threat now more than anything. Hence, Green, Jones, or Harvin.

Eh ... Berry was a safety. Safeties typically don't "shut down" one side of the field.
Also, Mo Claiborne was actually a better cover corner than Peterson - probably one of the best SEC cover corners of all time.
Finally, as far as DBs go, nobody made more plays than Mathieu. Not since George Teague. Not PP. Not Eric Berry. Nobody.

For one year until he got fat and slow and lost his edge.

Yeah, I saw you said Matt Elam. Elam is good, but Berry is a freak. He was the best Safety I have seen in the SEC in a while.

you are correct but in a 2 high safety look he can and DID shut down one side of the field.
Sometimes the other as well. ie Reid vs Bama...

Obviously Harvin is better, but I still don't think the style of player that Harvin is, is a good fit for LSU. They are similar style players, and Shep could hardly see the field. And it's not like he didn't make some plays

Clowney or Marcell Darius

He is the SEC's only Biletnikoff Award winner.
I think someone that could catch everything underneath and was great with the WR screen would be a great asset for Mett this year. All would be great additions no doubt.
I will still stick with Stafford though as the #1 player I would want. (I want a pro-style QB)

Clowney is an easy pick, but I think the OP was looking for guys from 2000-2010. Clowney was a freshman in 2011.

I got you now. We just have a different opinion for what we think would be a great addition to LSU
I lean more toward a pocket QB(Stafford), or a great underneath WR(Reed), or a cover corner(PP7)
