No, that's how everybody in America sees football. The goal is to win a title, so to blatantly turn one down and say "nah, I'm good. Not interested" is just retarded.

I've seen Alabama win 3 of 4

Which isn't as good as 4 of 5, no?

No regrets.

You wouldn't regret having the power (in this situation) to change the fact your biggest rival beat you on one of the most legendary plays of all time, won the SEC, played for the national title, and kept you out of it...and not using it?

I don't know your age, but I'll assume you remember 2000-2007. To put it bluntly, yall sucked arse. You were a bad, bad football team. I'm sure you would have given an arm to be in the Sugar Bowl during that time. But since you lost to your instate rival and you can't go to the natty, the sugar bowl is just some meaningless chore that must be put up with?

I remember the 2000-2007. I wanted the sugar bowl. But stay positive bro. UGA will get another shot one day.

It's just pretty asinine to say the IB "kept you hungry" when you're 0-1 after it.

I liken it more to when we lost to Florida in SECCG and proceeded to lose in a Sugar Bowl the team obviously didn't want to be playing in. It made them work harder in the offseason and realize they can't get complacent.

The impact the Florida loss and the 2010 season had on many of our players was huge. Obviously you want to win every game, but I don't think we have the success we have had without those losses.

quote:

The Sugar Bowl is meaningless? If you don't want to play in a BCS bowl then saban needs to get his head out his arse.

Saban has set the standard here at Alabama. We play for championships. I would bet he would tell you same thing.

Just look at the moves he made in the offseason. They didn't make moves for a team happy with the way their season went.

quote:

If you go to OT in the IB let's say you win, you're going to the national title and have a chance to cement this run as without a doubt the GOAT, and go down into legendary status. To turn that down by simply guessing at what next year might hold is just unbelievably ridiculous.

Why my answer was about Cade Foster

I am just saying his point isn't that outrageous. Besides anyone with a sense of objectivity will tell you this one of the GOAT runs already.

Your last sentence has nothing to do with the first 3. You're basically just admitting you are wrong and have nothing of substance to say in retort.

I'm 26 and remember those years quite well. Hell, I went to almost all the home games those years. However, I've seen us win 3 national championships since 2009. I've also quit going to the cupcake games against teams like Georgia State.

Did I have a chance to win a natty in this thread? Did I cost us a 16th title? Well damn me. Sorry fellow tide fans.

You just seem to know exactly how Bama fans should feel. So I started thinking like you, and felt bad about the 2011 sec championship game. Just looking out brahmmy.

I fully understand that comparison, but we have hindsight to look at what happened in 2009. We don't know what's going to happen in 2014. All we know about the Iron Bowl last year (which is the game I mentioned) is that you are winless after it. that's the game I suggested any sensible bama fan would change recently.

I don't care what sort of coach speak you or anyone tries to say, a fricking BCS BOWL is a got damn big deal. frick, forget about what caliber of bowl game it even is, let's say it's the poulan weedeater bowl. The fact remains it's a football game, against other players, and another coaching staff. You get 12-14 of them a year. To not "be up" for ANY postseason game is flat out unexcusable. And let's be honest, bama didn't lose simply because they "weren't interested". OU just was flat out better that day. After the first few series I'm sure bama snapped out of their mental daze they were apparently in and realized they were in for a fight. They still got whooped.

Hiring Franchione. That clown single-handedly set our program back a decade.

By saying you wouldn't change a single thing in recent history.

If you changed the IB this year, like most normal bama fans would, you win the west and play for the SEC. You would kill missouri. So for starters you're turning down another SEC title. Win the SEC and you're in the title game. I'm sure you know what saban does in title games. It's probably a 50/50 chance you beat FSU.

You are turning down a shot at another national title and simply content with losing to auburn. shite, even if this wasn't about titles, I'd think as a football fan in general you would change losing to your biggest rival. But I guess you're fine with it.

What does the 2011 SECCG have to do with anything? Or are you misremembering your years?

And it's already been pointed out to you many times by different fans sidewalker. To say you wouldn't change the IB last year is just fricking stupid. If you had the hypothetical power set forth in the OP to CHANGE the outcome, and instead would just keep it as is, like you said you would...then you are a really stupid individual.
