Look, I know their fans are hyped and they should be. After all, winning 6 games and earning a bid to the Earl's Chicken Shack bowl vs the #6 MAC team is a HUGE accomplishment for a program like theirs. So credit where it is due, overachieving is not easy.

However, I can't help but think that the impending loss in their "Super Bowl" will take some of the shine off of the great feats they have accomplished this year.

Thoughts? And PLEASE, serious responses only. I am NOT interested in the juvenile trolling that has become commonplace on this board. Thanks.

No, losing to a program like Missouri would be a blight on this season

If you all do win, will you finally STFU about the 2008 Cotton bowl?

That's kind of what I was thinking. Even if you take your program to uncharted waters like Arkansas has, losing the game that matters most to you has to be hard to overcome.

If Mizzou wins, then maybe you can upgrade that high school stadium.

I don't give a shite about Missouri because it's a completely irrelevant program

That's why losing to them would suck. Arkansas should never lose to Missouri

Any loss to a team who can't beat Indiana renders the entire season a failure.

Thankfully, it will surely be decades before Arkansas loses another game on Friday. The league office switched us from LSU, but I can't remember whIce of those schools OU and Nebraska used to beat 77-7 every year it is.

Mighta been Kansas? Maybe Iowa State? Missouri? One of those mid tier programs. I'll go look it up.

Enh, we are playing with house money right now buddy. Win, lose, or Mizzou forfeits because their coach got drunk and ran out onto the field to molest a referee this has been a success as a season.

Now. Keeping Mizzou from going to the SEC championship game... that is just the cherry on top of a great sundae. You aren't the main course this season. You aren't even the desert. Mizzou is the garnish. The after dinner mint.

Best I remember, most realistic Hog fans were disappointed in the record last season, but did recognize progress as the season wore on.

Those same realistic fans knew this was a 'build from the ground up' project, with the lines being the foundation.

The conservative spectrum of those fans predicted 4 or 5 wins, with some hoping for 6 somehow and getting to a bowl. That has been accomplished. A few thought 7 was possible, but very few. Turns out they are right, it's possible.

Now, to answer your question - we have seen continued progress and realize we still need a few more hands on deck and see those hands lining up to sign up.

By and large, we will deem this season a success, because of the continued forward momentum. To finish with a couple more wins (Mizzou and bowl) would be icing on the cake, but if they don't happen, it was still good progress.

Their greatest win. Remember their fans were claiming a split title with lsu. You didn't see arkansas fans claiming this.
