I could stare at that all day

Wait, wouldn't Alabama still have 14?

A&M should claim the following. All years we went undefeated.
1896
1902
1909
1917*
1919*
1927
1939
1956
1994
*didn't give up a single point
Then you throw in 1976 and 2012 (for whatever reason you did) that gives A&M 11 national titles.

Why give A&M 2012?
They were selected by Bob Kirlin.

28 if we counted every year that we were selected by anyone. We claim 15, due to the 1941 bogus year. 14 "recognized" years.

Which actual "records book" would you have liked me to use?
Uh, the actual records book: https://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/football_records/2014/FBS.pdf

CFBDW shows every single selector for every single year, which is why I used it for this thread - which was specifically aimed at listing every single year every single team in the league was awarded a National Championship by any selector. It's not like it's an opinion blog or fan site.
Again, it's one person's random site. There's a lot of misinformation on there and most of his supposed selections don't have any references whatsoever.

Just as irrelevant as CFBDW since the NCAA hasn't awarded a single college football National Championship.

Start a different thread and research it yourself, then. CFBDW is pretty thorough from my experience.

TIA

So from all sources/selectors, etc. the SEC has
95 CFB national championships....
95 CFB national championships....

Since Bama is the benchmark for the process, and since Bama already used the formula wouldn't Bama still be 14?

It starts on page 74.
Alabama 19
LSU 7
Tennessee 7
Georgia 6
Auburn 5
Florida 5
Ole Miss 3
Texas A&M 3
Arkansas 2
Vanderbilt 2 or 3
Kentucky 1
Missouri 1

Are we the only school that actually claims less titles than recognized?

Missing several selectors that CFBDW shows. I wasn't even aware the NCAA listed those selectors, though. So thanks for bringing that to my attention. Bookmarked.

One of the few, probably. Auburn only claims 2 (1957, 2010) although they clearly have a fair claim to the 1913 championship as well.
