This is the right thing to do. Honesty and faithfulness to one's family should trump all, including winning football games.

As a Baptist, I'm proud that the Arkansas AD realizes that Godliness is far more important than having a good football program, and the fans of those who realize that winning on earth is temporary and that the final, true victory is in Heaven will be rewarded.

Agreed to some extent, but 95% of the coaches in the nation would be fired if the truth came out about them.

It's the right ting to do because the Arkansas Athletic Dept is made up of more than one man or woman. Can't let Petrino live above the law and bang office employees. Long is responsible to more than just the football program

You guys don't think that setting a good example for Arkansan children is more important than winning football games?

Sure, but this is more about putting a University's image first. I agree with you about family and children, but he simply messed up, lied, and embarrassed the piggies.

You're not Jesus though.

Absolutely not. But I am proud that Arkansas' administration doesn't find having a strong football program more important than dignity. Real class shown.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was based in part on catering to some ultra-religious Baptists in those hills.

Call 'em up!
