A lot of Bama fans might be against promoting Kirby Smart because of the colossal train wreck that occurred when they promoted Mike DuBose after Stallings stepped down. But I don't know...Kirby has been with Saban a long time and as rigid of a taskmaster as CNS is, he must be doing things right or he would have been shown the door or left on his own. It seems to be working out pretty well at Florida with Muschamp and he had never been a HC at a lesser school. If Saban left and the powers that be felt Kirby was ready then I would be fine with it as long as they kept him on a short leash if things started going downhill.

Yeah, I get that. I just hope both stay for 3-5 more years. I think that would soften most peoples feelings on him.

Not happening, but yes, Smart would be our HC and still whoop LSU's arse in the state of Louisiana.

I doubt that, unless we let him know up front that he'd be interim until we landed the hire we needed. But what would a normie like me know?

If it was up to Saban yes. Saban has raised Smart up as a coach.

Kirby Smart is the biggest troll in the biz.

Actually Kirby does call the defense but Saban can overrule him.
