Is this how it works?

So LSU fans can start actively claiming those 3 straight "would be" titles in 2010-2012 because all they were missing was a QB?

Fantastic!!

Does Saban really want an elite QB? I'm just guessing based on observation, but it seems like he just wants a smart QB who will avoid making mistakes and let his running game and defense win games for him. And, honestly, why change what is working? He made the college playoff with Blake Sims and won national championships with Mcelroy and Coker. I do consider AJ to be close to an elite qb because he could make just about every throw necessary, but it seems like Saban got pissed at him more than anyone. I keep seeing where some people think Barnett is going to get the starting job, but based on Saban's history he seems much more likely to pick an experienced upperclassman who makes the smart play over the guy with the cannon arm.

I wonder if depending on an "elite" QB rather than a cross-the-team effort would be counterproductive?

Defense is the bigger factor in 10, 13 and 14 if you ask me. Poor LB play, secondary and poor DL play was more significant.

The best part about this run is it reminds me of my childhood when Bama absolutely destroyed LSU on a regular basis but now I get to watch them own CFB as well. It's great watching the older LSU fan base easily accept the reality as they're used to it and fun watching the younger generation agonize and gnash their tooth over what they think they could have been.

It's true LSU won only twice against bama from 1969-1981.
But, LSU was 4-5-1 against bama in the '80s.

LSU only beat bama twice in the 90s, but then we weren't very good agsinst anybody (except 95-96-97.)

LSU was 8-3 against bama in the 2000s.

bama is doing a little better in the 2010s for the moment, at 5-2.

Since 2000, bama is 8-9 against LSU.

7 of the 10 games between Miles and Saban have come down to the final seconds. No coach has played Saban so competitively..........

AJ finished 3rd in the Heisman voting. And Bama fans know that is the best judge of talent, so how can you say AJ wasnt elite?

He also won 3 titles. No one really stopped him.

And he was runner-up, not 3rd.

Thats been the only missing piece for Saban since he has been here. If we get an elite player at the position, Saban will easily win 3 championships in a row. Blake Barnett could be that guy. You guys should be scared. We will start beating people by 60 and have our backups in after halftime.

So if any other team has or gets an elite quarterback; or - has an elite defense but only an adequate quarterback, they also will 'not have a chance.'

Gotcha.

Only alabama's 'elite QB' counts, no other team's.

Because, you know, it's bama and all.....

Vomit.

You're looking to show examples of AJ stoppage.

You could have shown the 2011 Eric Reid interception.
You could have shown the 2012 aTm goal line interception.
You could have shown the 2014 Oklahoma strip sack.

Instead you chose to show three plays in which AJ McCarron was as much a spectator as everyone on tRant.

Amazing.

Did not say plays AJ was on the field.

Meant games they lost under AJ.

Was not amazing.

No. The best part about seeing Bama's current run is appreciating how many lives it has saved. We will never know how many Bama fans would have killed each other, shot their dog(s), killed trees or destroyed historical monuments had this not taken place. Truth.
