Mark Richt won an average of 10 games per year for 15 years.

Still going with the glaring inability to see the difference between early richt and late richt? You are hopeless.

All of this despite having an average recruiting ranking of 8th since 2008, according to 24/7 Sports

There's the rub with all the stats you cite. Georgia may have recruited well during that period, but they also paid a very heavy toll from discipline. It's not who you recruit that matters, it's who's left on roster to play the games. And we also passed on a lot of talented recruits because UGA elevated their admission disciplinary standards for student athletes.

Thus the "Mark Richt has lost control" meme. Of course, that was completely backwards, because actually Mark Richt was retaining control by treating his players as adults. Meanwhile some of our main rivals, like Florida, Tennessee and Auburn were letting the inmates run the asylum and it was pretty ugly to watch, championships notwithstanding. Who knows, maybe Kirby will play by the Urban Meyer rules, and I'll elect to take a break from UGA football.

How many players did we lose to discipline? Not enough to explain the drop-off in quality of play on the field.
