Pretty sure there's a big difference between a coach's first ever game at a program and a coach who is settled in and knows his players and how to manage them.

a) Camping World is a shitty stadium.
b) That crowd is probably going to be fairly split.

1. LSU was playing its first game under a new coaching staff.
2. LSU’s roster was a patchwork of inexperienced players and transfers that had very little experience playing with each other and under a new scheme. The greatest example of this was the atrocious special teams play.
3. Florida State had a familiar coaching staff with it being their head coach’s third season with the school.
4. Florida State’s roster had experienced players familiar with the scheme and coaching staff at key positions including quarterback.
In the upcoming matchup:
1. LSU has a well established coaching staff and scheme that is at least on par or better than Florida State.
2. LSU’s roster is experienced with depth at most positions and familiarity with the scheme.
3. LSU has a talent advantage at most positions and there isn’t a notable gap in experience between the teams.
