i'm sorry man but i seriously doubt you have looked at their schedule. they are playing the mighty tulsa this week after defeating the perenial powerhouse smu. no way you should go to the NC game with zero quality wins.

Maybe in a year when LSU hadn't played a really good non conference schedule or the next best teams according to polls haven't already had their chance, then I would see 1-loss teams getting a shot, but this year I just think the best scenario for CFB is letting the two undefeateds decide it on the field. The built in advantage of strength of schedule is that it took all the good teams losing to give Houston a chance. And yeah, LSU might wipe the floor with them, but they have already beaten all comers already and would still be the rightful MNC champion. And should Houston beat LSU, well then they would have also proved they were better than the de facto best team in the land.

you are setting up a precedent that would exclude teams from the truely competive conferences that might have lost to a good or great conference & then played through their hard conference in favor of a cusa or mac type team. check the non aq members' schedules.

"Houston hasn't played anyone in the top 25."

And, I think, only one team with a winning record, La. Tech. and that victory they pulled out of their arse after being down >30 at the half.

Pretty sure that game would go something like this, with LSU being the Green Bay player...

+1, if LSU wins out no one else deserves a second shot..

dont win their conference much less their own division, and let them into the national championship game?? that's real rewarding

So, what you are saying is, let's reward programs that lose the biggest game of the season at home and give them a bye week while the team that beat them has to go on the road to play a top ten team?? Sounds reasonable.

I have no idea why Bama fans are so defensive these days. Even if they don't go to the MNC, they would still get the Birmingham News to declare their 101st national championship. It isn't like they have needed to beat the best or even be in the best bowl games in he past to claim 'ships.
