He handled the Sterling situation about as perfectly as he could. Was such a super sticky situation.
He's been at the forefront of legalizing sports gambling.
Already brought a vote on changing the lottery
Discussed changing playoff seedlings, shorting the season/preseason, and shortening games

I don't really see why this is supposed to make me think better of him...

Why?

Cool. That's been needing to be done for a while.

shorting the season/preseason,
Why? Just to do it? I can't stand changing rules and shite just because.

shortening games
Why? That's stupid.

It convinces the refs to hand them the title due to overcoming adversity.

As a college sports fan I don't like seeing any kids turn pro early, in any sport.
As a business person I understand why they do. If engineering students were offered a job paying about 1000 times what the average graduate makes what would you expect them to do?]
You can always finish school after you get rich. You can't always play your sport. I know this. I'm 52 and can barely jog now :).
I actually admire UK for leveraging that rule (actually an NBA ruling not an NCAA ruling....you can't make a kid graduate, you can only measure his academic standing while he's enrolled).
I detest Calamari for the way he mines the AAU circuit. That's what's resulted in the vacating issues in prior programs and is likely to get UK in hot water before he leaves. No...HE doesn't do the dirty deed and I suspect nobody directly connected to the programs do...but if you've had a kid in AAU (I have) then you know that money is funneled to coaches and families in very creative ways. Calamari isn't actually a very good basketball coach, but he's the best in the world at mining that corrupt system.
Not trying to draw heat from UK fans at all either...you must know that's just fact.
