Saban would have won at any school he went to, but he wouldn't have won what he's gonna win at bama.

Yes with a 9-3 record

Literally just hired a coach 2 weeks ago..not going to happen.

Waiting to see what happens there. I didn't say Saban would jet next year.

Unless Tressel punches a player ala Woody Hayes, he will be there for 6-9 more years.

I've heard many Ohio State fans calling for his head this year.

Miles will not be hired at Michigan. What about a Michigan State man?

Not even worth the time to dispute.

How'd this year fair for them considering all of the "top" classes they pulled?

I agree with this.. Any AD with any sense will let him call the shots considering his success..

So NU is not going to be shopping for a coach

Oh, okay...so Kelly gets 2 years and then its Saban?

Still not going to amount to a change.

Who said anything about Miles? He isn't the only Michigan Man out there.

USC can't offer more money, they can't offer more prestige, and if you can't see that...I can't help you.

I think we are alone on tigerdroppings in understanding existential arguments as they pertain to SEC football. It's a lost cause.

ADs shop every year, and if they get a bite from the likes of a Nick Saban than yes

Well there sure have been a lot of UA fans coming to the rescue, so I wouldn't convince myself of that.

Well I actually posted in this thread in a rational sense, without emotions involved. I'm only letting my opinion be know, if you don't like it than that's cool too. I respect your opinion, as you should do the same. Maybe he does stay at UA, maybe he doesn't. One thing is for certain, if he does stay that puts more pressure on AU to get better.

Do you guys start these threads just to see Saban's Bama groupies slob all over the dude (please take that in the worst way), or are you really that pathetically obsessed with him?

One poster suggested that we need a Saban board. I'm down for that. At least it'll be easy to avoid. For f*cks sake.

I have an incredibly dry sense of humor, and I was totally kidding. I fully respect your point of view, and honestly, I think anything can happen.

You are indeed a great fan. I'm especially impressed with how you came to the Bama rant to kiss some arse.
You're definitely a credit to all people who remain loyal to a team, cause, etc. everywhere.

Yep, the former Senator is going to shop around after a 9-3 season with a second away from a Big 12 Championship.

So 5 years from now Saban is going to ND?

Jim Tressel isn't going anywhere. He has owned the Big 10, and is playing in the Rose Bowl...two years separated from playing in the NC game. The alumni association is going to get served a giant helping of "shut the frick up".

Who else would be up for consideration?

A couple..more specifically one who is doing fairly well out at Stanford.

Do that all you want, it doesn't change the fact that USC can't offer anything UA can't.

As a proud alumnus of the University of Alabama, I feel like I have an obligation to correct fallacy. It seems like you have perfected the art of it.

.. I'm not wishing bad things on the UA program, because when all is said and done it's football and life goes on. Do I like for AU to win, hell yeah. But at the same time UA is filled with kids from around Alabama that represent the state. Now I do enjoy everything about the rivalry, but it does go a little far sometimes.

Ask Tubs how those "almost" situations pan out

Did I ever state this? Unless you're God, you can't tell the future, only make educated guesses

We'll see if he wins the Rose Bowl. A load of choke doesn't bode well for job security.

Agreed there is one more

As you or somebody else stated, Saban isn't after money after he took a pay cut from Miami. Like I said Saban likes a challenge.

You said if Kelly makes out like "the tub of lard"..so I guess you're omniscient.

When he starts losing to UM is when his seat become hot. I hate it for you if you can't recognize that.

Hey! We're making headway!

You act like USC is Ball State. Ol' Petey has had a down year. There is no challenge in Southern California.

Well, Nostradamus. I think its time to Windex your crystal ball.

Look, we're done. You are an AU fan. You are grasping at straws hoping for an out. Its not going to happen. Just continue to root for your team, and hope that Gene can find a way to not lose 5 out of his last 7 next year.

Goodnight.

You didn't understand a word I said, or chose not too... You're right, I'm wrong, goodnight.
And just so you know, saying there is no fallacy looking into the future means nobody can tell the future. But I thought you being a UA alum and all, you'd know this.

Why bother with the Aubs? They are BEGGING AND PRAYING that Saban leaves, just wishing on their part.

Which if I were a Barn Dweller I guess I would be doing too, since they see another long stretch of irrelevance coming.

Not at all.. Saban will leave Bama.. What reason did he have to leave LSU? He loves a challange, and wants to fix things. That's what he does.. UA should enjoy him while they have him because he will be gone.. He's self-centered, so when things are expected from a program he must move on so the center of attention is on what he is doing... It's kind of like when you have a smoking hot girlfriend but that voice in the back of your mind says you could do better..

sorry I think you are wrong, He left LSu to take the next logical step NFL. He left MS to take the next logical step a big time program like LSU. There is no reason to leave Alabama it is as big as any other college job out there and he has complete control.

This. All this talk about Saban going to Penn State is just wishful thinking. People want him out of the SEC. imo he will retire at bama
in 8 to 10 years.

Yes, he's playing for a national title in only year three, and looking to sign another top ranked recruiting class, but he's ready to leave. Are you that freaking scared of him at Alabama? Get used to him at Alabama.

Why does everyone seem to think that Penn State would even offer?

Did Notre Dame offer? No.

When Penn state was struggling back in the early part of the decade they were not asking fir Joepa's resignation a la bowden/fsu...

When Joe pa does retire, they will stay within the Penn State family a hire within.

I agree with this. I lived in Pa for a time and followed PSU football closely while I was there. Penn State won't offer. They don't want a hired gun. They will stay in the system.

I do think that Saban will leave Bama at some point, but it won't be to go to PSU. He will never be offered that chance.
