John Chavis is one of the best defensive coordinators in the country...nfl or college. I can't believe the names, etc the Tenn fans were calling this guy when we pulled him down to the bayou...

nothing about his loyalty, etc just that he was an average, at best, coordinator, 3rd and Chavis, we would be escorting him out of Baton Rouge after year one, blah blah...

How can we keep this defensive staff together? They have an excellent eye for talent, great schemes, physical up front...I hope JC retires here and grooms Ron Cooper to take over the helm!!!!!!!!!!

Most LSU fans hated him after year one. I was one of the few who supported him.

well, Chavis will almost certainly be here until he retires. he'll be here at least as long as Miles is.

That is not cimpletely true. Some on here note his strong ganeplans, despite having some absolutely terrible Tennessee offenses to help him out

Glad Chavis has done well there but I was not sad to see him go, and I'm glad he's gone.

Chavis became complacent here. He needed to move on. Not really surprising he's doing well.

Bama vs Chavis defenses:

2010 - 325 yds 21 pts
2009 - 452 yds 24 pts
2008 - 366 yds 29 pts
2007 - 510 yds 41 pts

I'm ok with yall having him.

Could you believe the names LSU fans were calling him the past 2 years?

You can go to hell with this statement.

The rant does not represent most LSU fans.

I'll take it. That's a pretty poor offensive statline for a team ranked so highly with Heisman winners, senior quarterbacks, and first round picks galore.

Had 2 injured RB's, erratic line play and the secondary(Lsu's) was tore up with arguably the 2nd best pass defense in the nation. Chavis is good, no doubt. But he's got weaknesses and Bama seems to be able to exploit them.

Chavis had the 3rd ranked defense in the country right before they fired him and Fulmer. Not his fault y'all went 5-7. Wyoming, really

So Bama is good for 450 plus yds this year?

Yeah right dude. You can come up with as many excuses as you like about personnel problems but the fact of the matter is that your offensive performance was pretty mediocre last year against LSU.

Bama fans are so threatened for some reason. As if two great defenses can't co-exist. Did Phelon Jones start for y'all Saturday?
