That isn't helping your case, buddy.

Doesn't matter who has more money. Both have enough wealthy boosters to pay a coach around 6 million a year if not more but they won't. Gruden is not going to get away with taking either the Haslams or the Waltons to the bank. Both would probabaly tell him to frick off if he asked to be paid more than the likes of Saban or Meyer. He hasn't earned that.

Per sources Arkansas is going to make the next HC the highest paid coach in the country...

What really happened is that Jerry Jones and Haslam agreed to a one game do or die match to see which college gets Gruden.

Good for them if they want to pay an unproven coach in the college ranks 5.5 million or more. Its a gamble. Will it probably work, I would say so, but I remain skeptical. I would prefer someone like Bob Stoops (I know it won't happen).

I'd love to have JG, and think he's worth 6 mil a year.

You can have em at 7. He hasn't proved that he's worth more than the top coaches in all the land.

back to you

A bidding war just sounds stupid. this isn't a boys and girls club auction where all the rich drunk guys are trying to outbid each other for a round of golf with the local hooters girls. This is big time money, and the hire will have long term effects both financially and managerially.

It is always stupid to put all your chips on red or black.

here I disagree. I think a bidding war will happen but both have a top figure in mind that they're willing to pay and its roughly the same. Say its around 6 million for example. Its just a matter of who is willing to throw that top number out first wins.

We won't go to 6 million. Arky will win a bidding war, but I don't think it will come down to that. I personally think the whole "bidding war" thing is bullshite.
