I think it would have been even worse. Fournette is a better respective player at his position. But to mention LSU wouldn't be as strong this year, and Bama would be scary with Fournette and Henry in the fame backfield.

He was a must recruit but LSU has never lacked at the RB position.

The Gumps haven't and probably won't give up. But the average, rational Bama fan, has given up on him being successful weeks ago. I think he had a couple big runs in the first couple weeks. Which led to the Gump's false hope.

From my following recruiting Cam is from West Monroe those guys rarely play at LSU. Most St Aug picks do go to LSU cause of connection with Wilson

Collins was hated because he not only burned bridges in Louisiana but he acted like a clown whenever the topic came up. And finally, he jerked LSU around for 2 years. He had known since his sophomore year that he was gonna go to Bama. My college roommate graduated with him and he told me that everyone knew he was going to Bama. Not even his mother's objections could change his mind. If Fournette remained the same humble guy that he is, there wouldn't be backlash similar to Collins'. People would def be bitter and very disappointed but I can't see him being hated.

Fournette would have never degraded himself like that and picked Bama over LSU. That would have been beneath him and shamed his family.

Ehhhhh, short term memory here for you.
It could be argued before Saban got to Alabama there wasn't a school LSU fans hated MORE than USC over the 2003 "co-national title" fiasco. I remember those days and it wasn't pretty when USC was ever brought up. Joe McKnight going to USC pissed a ton of people off big time. It was way worse than when Landon Collins chose Bama.
