When 6 of Bama's 8 SEC opponents pick their bye-week before playing Bama. That's a pretty good sign the conference is gunning for you and those actions fall under "Find a way to make it tougher for Bama". Plus, some coaches know there's a healthy contract extension after beating Bama these days. For instance, even after all the drama Miles has gone though lately. He'd get a lengthy contract extension if LSU beats Bama next season. All would be forgotten instantly.
When you're top dog, others will try their best to make things tough. More than not, you're getting everyone's best shot week to week.
