Nope. We have national signing day coming up, the spring football, followed by SEC meeting in Destin, then media days, and final fall training. We are set.

Nobody's beating Bama as long as the Tide D shows up, but the SC team you beat in Arlington is just a smidge different than the SC team that just won the Rose Bowl.

It is true that USC improved over the year. I don't think it would be another 46 point victory, maybe 3 td's, if they met in the playoffs. You see after playing and practicing for months most teams who aren't hit with too many injuries get better as well. For example, Bama gave up 0 td's in November. The Bama defense also improved over the course of the year. The very reason college football is my favorite sport is that all of the regular season games matter. Congrats on your team's Rose Bowl win, and real improvement over the course of the year. I would be happy about that, but pissed at the USC coaching staff for not having them ready to play Bama, and as a USC fan you should be utterly humiliated about your school's performance in week 1. 46 point loss. I can't remember an Alabama team ever losing that bad,not in my lifetime, and not even during the rough years.

not particularly. LSU and Arkansas were the only offenses with a pulse that Alabama played that year.
And 2016 Bama gave up 43 to a terribile Ole Miss team and 30 to a terrible Arkansas team. they held a pretty good washington offense to 7 points, though.
2011 Bama gave up more than 14 points just a single time.. Georgia Southern. 2016 Bama gave up more than 14 three times. '11 also gave up 106 points total (holding offenses to 183 ypg/3.32 yards per play) for the season.. '16 has given up 160 points (holding offenses to 244 ypg/3.86 yards per play)
i think the 2016 Bama defense is incredible.. but i don't think its better than the 2011 Bama D.
2011 Bama D: mark barron (drafted #7 overall), hightower (#25 overall), CJ Mosely (#17 overall), upshaw #35 overall, Dre Kirkpatrick (#17 overall), Dee Milliner (#9 overall), clinton-dix (#21 overall)
insane squad really '16 had the better DL though.. by a large margin

Still taking the 2016 defense all day every day.

I was extremely pissed that USC wasn't ready. It's part and parcel of having a coach that was learning on the job. Instead of starting a QB that might just be one of our best ever, he started someone that is now transferring out of the program.
Humiliated? Nah. It sucks to lose, and all that but why the hell would any USC fan feel humiliated after what that team has accomplished? It's pretty amazing to have watched them gel after Darnold took over, and helped Helton gain the team's trust and confidence.
Overcoming adversity and watching our guys "Fight On" was the best part of the season.
Sometimes bad stuff like the Bama game has to happen before you can appreciate, and truly savor the really, really good stuff.

A few things on this. First, the bama defense didn't give up 43 to ole miss. Ole miss scored a defensive touchdown in that game. Ole miss also wasn't "terrible" at that point in the season. The injury bug hadn't lopped their nuts off yet and they still had something to play for. They went toe-to-toe with 2 of the most talented teams in the country in Alabama and FSU.
Both Ole Miss and Arkansas were buried midway through the 4th and scored some garbage time points on Alabama. That's going to happen when a game is in hand

6 first rounders. Impressive no doubt.
Jon Allen and Reuben Foster are top 10 picks. Marlon Humphrey is a first round pick. Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Daron Payne are first round picks next year. That's 5 virtual locks without even mentioning the guys that play sparingly or often now and have the talent to play themselves into a first round pick. Da'Shawn Hand, Ronnie Harrison, Mack Wilson, Tony Brown, Rashaan Evans. The talent is better on this defense than 2011. Never thought I would see the day after watching that group play, but this one is more talented. 2011 didn't have 5 star backups to give the 5 star starters a breather.

I see. You know USC certainly did make big strides in 2016, and it is too bad Darnold wasn't ready to start in week 1. USC fans should be proud of the improvement they made and a Rose Bowl win to end the season that started out like that was, remarkable to say the least.

Yeah and USC has a real shot at going to the playoff with Darnold next season.
